Meet a driver at your hotel in the George Town area, then travel to the base of Penang Hill in a private, climate-controlled vehicle. Upon arrival, continue to the top on a funicular train, earning a spectacular, bird's-eye view of Penang Island. Next, head to Kek Lok Si Temple, a beautiful Buddhist temple that's among the largest in Southeast Asia. See the towering statue of Kuan Yin, and learn to distinguish the three architectural styles on the seven-story pagoda: you'll find Chinese, Burmese, and Thai. Pause at the Liberation Pool to count the turtles, and if time permits, you can stop for a snack at one of the nearby hawker stalls. Following your time at Kek Lok Si Temple, continue to Pulau Tikus to visit the Reclining Buddha Temple, or Wat Chaiyamangkalaram, and the Burmese Temple, or Dharmikarama Temple. See the world's third-longest reclining Buddha statue, and discover the differences between Chinese and Siamese temple dragons. Check out the Guardian of the World, or Panca Rupa, then throw a few good luck coins in the Fountain of Life. This half-day tour concludes with return transfer to George Town, and drop-off at your original departure point.

A half day tour to the Chinese temple Kek Lok Si and Penang Hill. Pick up at our hotel in GeorgeTown. On the way out three short stops were added to the tour: # 1. A batik shop # 2. A coffee and chocolate shop # 3. A mosque A ride on the funicular railway to the top of Penang Hill. Return to George Town and drop off at our hotel. We had a good experience.

Carol Lee is a very professional guide. She went above and beyond to make sure we had a memorable experience and tour. We recommend this tour to anybody who wants to see Penang Hill and temple.

We really appreciated Sam, our driver, and Penang Hill and Kek Lok Si are both worth visiting. I hadn't been to Penang Hill for many years and found it a bit much, to be honest. The views are great but there can be masses of people and there wasn't much else to get excited about. Nice walks, true, but the signage is pretty poor and the information centre wasn't particularly informative.

We didn't take this trip as we were left stranded near a hotel that we had taken a Grab to as they couldn't find our hotel on their listings!! We were supposed to meet up with the driver!! After waiting half an hour and no driver we approached the hotel and they were kind enough to call some telephone numbers on the brochure....after several tries someone called Vejay called me and said he would pick us up at 10:30...go figure!!) We decided not to wait for Vejay as he was apparently in another state...thankfully the hotel helped us find our way back to our hotel and we will be forever grateful to them...although this is not TripAdvisors fault they should be very careful who they choose as their 3rd party provider...please check your tour information very carefully as this could have ended in disaster instead we have made a great friend if we EVER visit Peneang again....Do not Use MAM as your 3td party choice...

We got a driver instead of a guide as marketed by Viator. The driver was great and fun . We are disappointed about Viator.

This was a great tour! We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the top of Penang Hill even though it was in the clouds and there was no view. Our guide, Carol, was excellent. She gave us an overview of the history and culture of the area as we drove and pointed out landmarks. She walked with us through the Kek See Lok temple pointing out various architectural details and the various alterations done over the years as well as the customs. On our way back to the hotel, Carol gave us a quick tour of the city again pointing out significant features. She was a wonderful guide!!

Guide was nice, took us water and snacks. Unfortunately, he was more of a taxi driver than a tour guide. He got out of the car and let us go around ourselves. We could easily have done that ourselves at the price. Penang Hill we didn't do because it would be 2h to queue and we would have to book extra FastLane. Because it was foggy, it didn't pay off

A very interesting tour, which gets you around Georgetown to see two of the key historic sites. Mohamed, our guide was very helpful and informative. A very pleasant person, who told us about the history of Georgetown as we travelled. Communication throughout was excellent.
