Nizwa Fort Oman
We depart Muscat to Nizwa, the old capital of Oman. Visit to the famous Nizwa Fortress. Today, the for is a museum that showcases the history of the fort and surrounding area. Walking through the fortress you get to see amazing views of the ancient town and the nearby mountains. This impressive fortress was a base used in the military to hold off the hardest attacks and seiges.

Mr. Badar, my guide, was outstanding. His deep knowledge of Omani history, his clear and engaging explanations, and his ability to connect architecture, traditions, and daily life made each visit incredibly interesting. Thanks to him, these forts and castles were not just impressive buildings, but places filled with stories, meaning, and cultural depth. Behind this seamless experience was Analiza, whose organization was, once again, excellent. The itinerary was perfectly planned, with smooth transitions between sites and enough time to explore and appreciate each location without any rush. Everything felt effortless and well thought out. The route itself was fascinating. Nizwa Fort offered a vibrant introduction to Oman’s heritage, Bahla Fort impressed with its scale and historical presence, and Jabreen Castle was an absolute highlight—elegant, refined, and rich in architectural details that reveal the sophistication of Omani life in the past. 5.00Yassir was everything we wanted in a tour guide and then some. He had an encyclopaedic knowledge about Oman, and shared with us all about this fascinating country. His pride for his country surely came through. He took us a on a tour of the incredible forts and castles that made this country, and we were deeply immersed into its storied past and influences. We had asked for a local place instead of an expensive touristy spot for lunch, and Yassir delivered. You'll definitely be in great hands when Yassir is at the wheel.
