• Great day on Roatan!

  We booked a tour with ROA from home before we departed for our cruise. It was very easy to connect with them from the US to plan the day. When we arrived, Norma met us and was our guide. She was terrific and taught us much about the island. Her love for Roatan really came through and helped make the day very fun. We toured all over the island, including a rum factory (with rum cakes that were delicious), chocolate factory (also delicious), brewery and two different markets. We also visited the monkey and sloth sanctuary which was fantastic. It was very well run and the guides there (Michael and Miguel) were wonderful. We had a very nice lunch and as were leaving to go to the beach it started to pour rain. We were unable to go the beach or snorkel, which was disappointing but I guess we will just have to go back! :) Thanks to Norma for a great day! Would highly recommend.

  After doing our research we contacted ROA by email. Booking did not require a down payment and their response time was the same day. Very reassuring and kind, answering all of our tour questions we booked. Because of a tropical storm the night before our arrival in Roatan, Honduras NCL cancelled the majority of their excursions and sadly many were disappointed because NCL could not offer alternatives. We had booked with ROA so we emailed them and asked what we could do. We had not put a deposit and we had nothing to loose. The next morning we called using WhatsApp and ROA suggested alternatives to snorkeling since the roads were still flooded. Our day turned out to be an amazing adventure that cost us less then our original booking. Dolphis the tour guide and driver was an amazing man; funny, humble, enjoyable and very knowledgeable regarding life on the island. He suggested places to visit and happily accepted our suggestions. He arrived with a van that the 7 of us were comfortable in. As we drove around the island he told us about the storm, the history and answered the many questions we had. The previous days flooding did not affect us but sadly we could see what the water did to the little villages. We visited a chocolate factory, a rum factory, a wonderful restaurant for lunch, a little shopping, a swimming area, and a animal sanctuary. There we held, Guiney pigs, Scarlet Macaws and we also were able to admire and gently pet sloths. If interested we could enter a big cage were monkeys were able to jump from one of us to the other. It was hilarious. We felt safe, very comfortable and taken care of.   My goodness these people were simply salt of the earth. they have lived on Roatan all their lives, so there are no better guides for your adventure whatever it may be that you choose. They helped us with out entire trip from airport transit, to wildlife sanctuaries, to snorkeling, to a tour of the entire island and a water tour of some secret local places that you could never imagine even existed unless they told you. just really beautiful hearted people with great souls that took amazing care of us. ❤️
