It would take me forever to fully explain how amazing my experience at Hagoromoya was! It had always been my dream to dress up in a kimono, do a photoshoot, and feel like a real geisha. Thanks to Satsuki and her wonderful team, that dream finally came true. Satsuki is an incredibly professional photographer. You can truly see the dedication and passion she has for her work, and she makes every photoshoot feel special. Watching how much she enjoys what she does makes the whole experience even more memorable. The studio is very clean and professional, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. During the dressing and makeup process, I really felt like a true geisha. The team carefully made sure everything was perfect at every moment, from the wig decorations and kimono to guiding me on how to place my hands and pose to create the most authentic look. If you visit Kyoto, you absolutely should not miss this experience. It will stay in your memory forever and it is worth every single yen! I highly recommend Hagoromoya, and I guarantee you won’t regret it. Congratulations to the Hagoromoya team for the incredible work and love you put into what you do!

Our kimono photo studio experience at Hagoromoya was definitely one of the highlights of our Japan trip. Satsuki and her team took very good care of us from start to finish. They were friendly, attentive, detail oriented and did everything they can to make our time and experience memorable. It is definitely a wonderful story to tell our children and grandchildren and we have beautiful pictures to show them. For visitors of Japan, we absolutely recommend that you include the kimono dress up experience in your itinerary and do it with Hagoromoya.

Highly recommended. Our experience was incredible; they made it wonderful. A very professional team, they made us feel comfortable. I have two young daughters, and they really enjoyed the session. We all left very happy, and the photos are beautiful.

Kyoto is a very meaningful city for me, and I had long dreamed of getting photos in Gion wearing a kimono — something that’s incredibly hard to do on your own when you’re traveling solo. I came across a review of this studio completely by accident and instantly knew: this is it! They have an amazing selection of beautiful kimono — from elegant and understated to richly ceremonial. They even offer several types of armor… maybe next time I’ll choose one of those! What mattered most to me was having the kimono dressed properly in the traditional way, receiving gentle guidance on posing and facial expressions — and my apologies to Satsuki, I promise I’ll try to smile more often! I chose the Kimono Plan, and we agreed on an outdoor photoshoot. It was incredibly easy and comfortable walking around with the photographer and the assistant. She made sure my kimono always looked neat and perfect — I’m deeply grateful for that. At the end of the shoot, I received a finished mini-album with two gorgeous studio portraits, and shortly after, the full set of photos. They are absolutely wonderful… You didn’t just take pictures of me wearing a kimono — you captured my emotions and the way I truly felt in that moment. Thank you, Satsuki and the entire team at Hagoromoya — you did an amazing job! I sincerely hope more people discover your studio.

10 out of 10 experience. This was an amazing way to capture our trip and have amazing pictures to remember our vacation. The photoshoot was professional and we highly recommend it to anyone looking to emerge yourself in the Japanese culture and get mementos of your photoshoot. I would like to note these kimonos are the real deal they weight 40 pounds are beaded and had gold thread sewn. So they are absolutely gorgeous and they have multiple to choose from (it’s like choosing a wedding gown). We got to choose one picture of ourselves and one together so 3 total pictures that the printed right there the day of and give us. Which was so nice. They put them on a sturdy mat board which I have on my tv mantle. We did the couple shoot and I had my hair and makeup done (which I highly recommend) it made the picture so much better than wearing a wig. About a week later we were sent all 300 pictures from the photoshoot digitally for our keeping. Such a great deal.

On my birthday, Satsuki and her team filmed the family of three and it was a truly wonderful and unforgettable memory. Before my trip, I had been searching for a kimono photography studio in Kyoto on social media for a long time, but I couldn't decide. I had already given up on it when I found Hagoromiya, and I was immediately captivated by her. This authentic and traditional Japanese dress really suits the atmosphere of Kyoto, the historic ancient capital, and that was the most impressive part. At first, I was a little worried about communicating with the staff in Japan, but I had no problem at all. Everyone was very good at English and they communicated with me carefully before the shoot, and I was very relieved to be able to decide on the costumes and shooting contents in advance. On the day of the event, when I arrived at my appointment time, the staff were waiting for me at the entrance and I was very happy. The person in charge of the kimono was also very professional, and the moment I saw the beautiful kimono and hair ornaments, I was moved. It was smooth and fun throughout the shoot, and the cameraman was very good at posing, facial expressions and pulling out angles, allowing the whole family to relax. All the photo data and videos were also given to me after the shoot, which I feel is a really worthwhile experience considering the content. I've already been thinking about which outfit I should wear next time. If you want to leave a special memory in Kyoto, I would really recommend this studio.
