Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine
You can see Japan's background that is off-limits to ordinary tourists after the tour. This short trip is a fantastic and great value way of experiencing Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine! We are here to help you discover new things, the Fushimi Inari Shrine is so more than its famous tunnels of vermillion-red torii gates. Most people are satisfied by a scenic view of it. But this has a lot of stories to tell that will connect you to the Japan's history and culture and your guide will show you deeper. You will see a fascinating story attached to the origin of the shrine dedicated to the god of grains – that’s what “Inari” means – . This is also why you’ll see statues of the fox around the shrine. “Kitsune” or the fox is a servant to the god Inari. They are cunning tricksters, clever minded animals who make perfect guides for the treacherous business world. You may would want the foxes on your side after this tour.

Hiro was our tour guide. She did a great job with communicating with us before the tour. She picked us up at the station platform which alleviated any stress. She did a great job accommodating our group of 5

Enjoyed an outstanding tour of Kyoto with Hiro. I corresponded with the company in the weeks leading up to the tour in order to customize all the places we wanted to visit, as well a pickup at our hotel. The tour allowed us to visit all the sights very efficiently - the driver dropped us off at each site, Hiro was a delightful, funny, informative guide who helped us navigate each site efficiently, and the driver was ready to pick us up as soon as we finished. We had no wasted time waiting!!! Hiro truly gave us the experience of a local person's perspective, even sprinkling in different trivia questions!!! She and the driver did an outstanding job adjusting the schedule based on the crowds, including the selection of the most convenient (and tasty) lunch stop. Outstanding tour!!!!

Umi was absolutely wonderful. She worked with us on a customized plan that included adapting for a member of our family that uses a wheelchair. The sites she recommended were perfect and gave us a nice touch of Kyoto. We particularly loved the final temple and the experience we had there. The lunch spot we ended up choosing was an excellent Japanese meal. She was extremely knowledgable about the sites, Kyoto in general, Japan's history, and more. You could tell she loves what she does.

We had a lovely time touring Kyoto with our English speaking guide Yasu. He arrived early to pick us up at our hotel and we were off to our first site, Fushimi Inari Taisha, followed by Kiyomizu-era and then Nijo Castle. He shared his extensive knowledge of Japanese history, even coming equipped with a book to add color and additional illustrations to give us a fuller picture of what we were touring. Yasu was extremely kind and helped with my elderly parents, one of whom tends to be very curious and wander off occasionally. We also really enjoyed shopping on the road he took us on that had many pottery shops. We would definitely recommend Yasu to anyone who visits Kyoto.

Fantastic tour worth every penny. Kyoto has a lot to see and having a private car with driver in ADDITION to tour guide is a huge benefit. You can get dropped off by entrance of each destination and then picked up by the exit. Very convenient! Our tour guide Ken Yokosuka was FANTASTIC. Professional, friendly. Knowledgeable, organized and extremely accommodating! Ken made it a great day for us.

Our guide Harumi was a great communicator with where to meet and made an itinerary based on our group's interests. The driver was also very helpful in getting us to places we needed to go on time. Even if there was a lot of walking, it was nice having a private vehicle vs dealing with the crowds on the train. Also being able to sit in between destinations was nice, if it was through the train we would be standing a long time.

Taichi was wonderful. He spoke excellent English and knew a lot of history. We really enjoyed the tour and are glad we splurged on it. It was really nice to have the taxi and guide on a cold day. He had excellent suggestions and chose a quick fun restaurant for us for lunch!
