  We had a fantastic day with John. He was a great guy that would be fun to just go have a beer with. But he was very knowledgeable about wine having been in the industry. He will take you to places that are fantastic that you would not find on your own.

  A really great trip to McLaren Vale. John was an excellent guide providing a lot of information and history of the area, the wines and some general Australian history thrown in for good measure. The lunch at Salopian was superb, so good we spent too much time there and missed out on our last planned winery as a result! The wineries we did visit (Oliver's & Coriole), provided a tasting of some lovely wines, predominantly reds at our request. Comfortable BMW 5 series car.

  Wonderful day spent visiting wineries in the McLaren Vale. John was a knowledgeable host and accommodated all our requests. The wineries he selected met our requirements perfectly. We enjoyed learning about the wines in the region and tasted some spectacular wines. John is a great communicator and we knew exactly what to expect throughout the day. Highly recommend John and Best Wine Tours if you are in the area.

  Really enjoyable afternoon with the driver/guide John. Visited great wineries and tasted wonderful shiraz, grenache and a number of wines made from less known Italian grape types. Terrific tour!

  Spent a fantastic day touring McLaren Vale with John last week. No better man to describe the wineries in the region and bring them to life. His knowledge on the local region is second to none and will tailor the trip that bet suits you. Also the car was a perfect way to get around the area for a small group.   John is a delight to work with from start to finish. Once I let John know that I wanted to book 2 days of tours he picked up the phone to call me and find out about our preferences. What I appreciated was the ability to select some of the locations for lunch and tasting and have John select others based on the type of wine we enjoy. Both John and his wife have extensive experience in the wine and beer industry in Australia. John was on time (actually a few minutes early) both days in his spotless, late model BMW M class. On the way to our first stop he told us about the history of the area and wine making origins. He is a very friendly guy and fun to hang out with during the day. I enjoyed the flexibility John offered as well as the wineries he chose. John goes above and beyond to be an ambassador for his city. When I found out we would have an extra day in Adelaide prior to our wine tours I reached out to John for suggestions. He quickly texted me several ideas which we really enjoyed. If you are looking for a tailor-made tour in the Adelaide, Best Wine Tours is the way to go! You get a day customized to your preference at about the same price as package tours with pre-planned itineraries. Thanks for making our trip to Adelaide so much fun!

  We had a wonderful two-person wine tour with John for my wife Natasha's bday on a short trip to Adelaide in late Nov 2022. John's tour company was referred to us from a few other groups who were unavailable. We had a lovely time with John for the day in McLaren Vale on a Friday with a curated tour across local wineries and lunch at the wonderful Salopian Inn (a must do). Dealing with John was easy, quick responses, and he was highly flexible to what we wanted to do including last min changes. Lovely to travel around in 5-star comfort where John would drop you at the door and be waiting with an umbrella if needed for safe return to the car. Highly recommend if you are looking for more of a personal touch and great local knowledge. Make sure you do Oliver's Taranga which was a highlight of the day suggested by John (we joined their wine club). 5 stars.

  My husband and I enjoyed a great day out in the McLaren Vale Wine region on a private tour with John. Well worth the money. We planned our itinerary jointly but John is also happy to plan an itinerary for you. There were a couple of places we were keen to visit and then John made a number of other suggestions based on what we had shared with him regarding the type of tour we wanted and the type of wines we wanted to try. John is very knowledgeable and has great knowledge about the local wineries. I would definitely recommend using Best Wine Tours.
