Enjoy a private cooking class in a local home with your host Tanya. This is a perfect experience for anyone looking to connect with local culture over food. Tanya fell in love with Mexico and moved from Canada in 2020. The kitchen has always been her happy place and she learned to cook authentic Mexican dishes from her friends and neighbors, who were so happy and kind to share their family recipes with her. Living in Mexico for many years has allowed Tanya to perfect these recipes while adding a little twist of her own. She is excited to cook a Mexican meal using the freshest seafood and produce available and share it with guests.

During your one-hour cooking lesson, you might learn to make spicy shrimp tacos with mango salsa, shrimp ceviche tostadas with pico de gallo or chicken enchiladas with salsa and guacamole. We were welcomed by Tanya who was warm and very friendly! She allowed us to help her prepare three dishes which were very delicious. She was very accommodating to all our needs. We would definitely recommend her to other friends.

We arrived early, not knowing how long it would take to get from the Malecon to the cooking class and she was ready for us. She was very welcoming, friendly, and her home is lovely. We made guacamole, and it was exactly the same way. I made it at home, so of course I liked it. Then we made a chocolate avocado mousse, which I never had before, and I will definitely have again. That was followed by chicken enchiladas, which were very simple that were very delicious. We were served a Palermo upon arrival which my husband loved more than I did, but I don’t like 7-Up. And she had a lovely glass of either white or red wine for us while we waited for the enchiladas to cook. Her new puppy Howie was adorable and he entertained his while we waited for the enchiladas to cook. Overall, it was a lovely experience, and I would highly recommend it

My husband and I enjoyed this cooking class so much! When we arrived, Tanya had everything prepped and ready to go, she walked us through step-by-step and was so encouraging. Once we had the enchiladas ready to bake, she then showed us how to make homemade guacamole. It was so lovely to enjoy this delicious meal in her backyard, oasis, while learning about her life in Mexico. Highly recommend this cooking class, you will not be disappointed.!!

From the start Tanya was inviting, warm and personable. She invited us into her beautiful home and the kitchen was very well set up to teach. We enjoyed some great drinks while she taught her class and let us participate. The food was delicious! We had a ton of fun, laughs and enjoyed a great dinner. If you’re looking for a unique and fun night out, off the boat or away from the resorts, I’d highly recommend an evening here.

  • Wonderful Host, great food

Tanya was the perfect host, charming insightful and a great chef. She has a beautiful home and gorgeous kitchen. She explained the menu, which included a refreshing Paloma over ice, guacamole (she invited me to make it and was open to hands on), chicken enchiladas and a delicious Mexican Lime Icebox Cake. What was of particular value was the fact she made the enchilada sauce from scratch. The food was delicious, the atmosphere warm (beautiful courtyard) and great conversation. While she lives in Ixtapa, part of Puerto Vallarta, the drive was only 20 minutes and the Uber very reasonable. I highly recommend this cooking class.
