Simply put, we are real Aurora hunters and rely on the following to succeed in our mission: • background research into local weather and Aurora forecasts • live information feed coming direct into our car • local knowledge of all the best viewing spots • willingness to go the extra mile – or a hundred miles – to find the Aurora During the night, we normally go to 2-3 different locations which are always chosen according to local weather conditions and photographic opportunities. This means that if we have a clear sky and a possibility to see the Aurora 100 km away, we will take the chance and drive you there. Altogether we have over 50 locations from which we can choose the best ones each night! After reaching our destination we leave the car and continue on foot to reach the perfect spot for photography. In the destination our guide, a professional photographer, helps you prepare your cameras for Northern Lights photography and we are ready for the show of a lifetime!

5.00We used 3 different tour operators while in Rovaniemi. Beyond Arctic was by far our favorite (we took 2 different tours with them... hiking through Riisitunturi and a private aurora tour). The pace was great and the guides did a great job with both the photos they took and with helping us take great photos. We really appreciated our private aurora guide's (Ville) time and attention teaching us the appropriate camera settings for astrophotography. Strongly recommend.

1.00Awful. There was a snow storm and zero chance of seeing northern lights but they still insisted on us continuing with the tour because it was no refundable. I get non refundable, I signed that contract and will live by it . Hit insisting on seeing through a point less drive to see nothing is beyond crazy and perhaps reckless in the weather conditions. I would rather they would have been honest and acknowledged the conditions were terrible and recommend not going. The outcome was the same…ie they kept all the money I paid them. Good and honest business practices bring returns. Check out my other reviews, I mostly give good ratings where deserved, this was not one of those moments.
Do NOT recommend booking in advance, book the day of only or go with another tour group.

1.00There are no refunds, so I would not book this activity in advance. I would book it the day of the activity so you can check the weather. I ended up paying over $1100 and we did not see anything. Other tours offer some kind of guarantee this one does not. However, our tour guide did try very hard, we drove for over two hours into Sweden but to no avail.

5.00We had a fantastic experience at this tour!! Mario was very nice and kind and went above and beyond to make us feel happy. Besides driving for hours, she also had the car loaded with berry juice, cookies, wood for a fire etc. She explained us the basics of the northern lights and took many great pictures of it. I'd highly recommend booking with Beyond Arctic again!
A magical experience with our little one! Highly recommend going private and with this company for their knowledge!

5.00Highly highly recommend a private tour especially with little ones!!! Their knowledge of the lights is spectacular! The tour started, stopped and was based our us and our wishes. Leevy was our tour guide and his knowledge of the lights was unreal. Granted, the lights played in our favor , it is a natural phenomenon and you cannot hold it against them if they do not show! He was so kind, helpful and accommodating. Go private!

5.00We booked two tours with Beyond Arctic. The first one is Husky Farm tour. We simply had the most wonderful time spent with the adorable huskies as we sat in the 5km sled ride on a snowing winter forest. Another one is the Northern Lights tour. We had an amazing time with Neva as our guide. She drove almost to borders of Sweden to find the clear sky, and in the end we were able to see the stunning aurora. She had good knowledge of photography and capture a great photos. Thank you Beyond Arctic for the most wonderful once in a life time experience.

1.00Very bad experience not because we don't see the aurora but because the lack of professionalism. A terrible car trip lasting 6h30m, completely uncoordinated, driving from one side to another. At first was said that we would go to Sweden with another group but the guide lost it and we ended around in circles behind another car about two hours until he realized he was following the wrong car! The group that went to Sweden photographed the northern lights.

Despite the cloudy and challenging night, he never stopped hunting for the aurora until we finally witnessed the dream of our lives. 5.00This was an incredible experience and fabulous tour. Our tour guides, Ilona & Aurelien, were AMAZING guides! We booked a private northern lights tour and had an incredible experience from start to finish everything was great. We were able to see spectacular views of the aurora borealis and have the trip of a lifetime! 5.00Had an amazing experience with Finn. Finn is very passionate about the Northern lights. Even if we did not see them, he was an experience in itself to listen to him. He has gone above and beyond my expectations to find us the northern lights! Thank you Finn, you have created some beautiful memories for a long time! There was very little chance to see the northern lights in Finland so we drove to Sweden and luck was on our side. We had a show for 90 mins before the clouds came back. Thank you also to the Beyond team to allow us to reschedule the hunt as the weather was not good the day before.
