I spent a wonderful 2+ hours (about 14km) getting some excercise and great views with Balthazar who guided me around the green parks of Valdivia and Providencia and then up and down Cerro San Cristobal on a warm and sunny spring day. Even though the funicular no longer transports bicycles up the mountain for the ride down, I found the incline up the mountain to be very gradual so not as hard as I imagined. It was a good workout. Balthazar was always on the watch to make sure I was nearby and gave me advice along the way as to gearing, etc. He was also very patient as I took it quite slow when we went down the hill on a short stretch of dirt path. He pointed out sites of interest and explained the history of the city and uts various comunes.

I had a great morning ride with Balthazar - highly recommend this outing! We did a 3 hour mountain bike tour - including a bit of the city, Metropolitan Park and San Cristobal Hill. Although I’m in good shape, I’m not really a mountain biker, so Balthazar tailored the experience to my level - ie baby mountain bike trails!! He was very good at telling me what to expect on each part of our ride, and what some of the challenges may be. Balthazar is super friendly- excellent English- fun to chat with him and learn about life in Santiago. Santiago is a big, populous city, I enjoyed seeing the parks and more natural parts of the city via bike. Tell Balthazar what you are up for, and he will customize the ride for you. I’d highly recommend this tour for anyone who would like an active exploration of Santiago!!!

It was a great tour, Baltazar was a fantastic guide, so interesting about all the places we visited. We also talked about so many things including the Santiago music scene, political history, constitutional change and much more. The bike ride was great too ;-) Highly recommended.

Perfect way to see the different parks in Santiago. I did not have the skill needed for this tour, but Balthazar was super accommodation and found a way for me to get down. Note that you will be biking up hill for a good chunk of this tour but the views are worth it.

Beautiful bike ride - got to see some really cool parts of Santiago. But I definitely was not skilled enough for this tour/ the mountain biking part was difficult; however, Balthazar was super accommodating and helped me find a route down the mountain! Note that this tour will require biking up the hill which was hard but the views were worth it.

Fantastic trip both educational and challenging. After easy ride and tour of the city proceeded to do a nice moderate climb and witness some spectacular views. Single track downhill was in great condition and our guide was great. Spoke fluid English and Spanish.

Excellent way to spend a morning in Santiago if you enjoy cycling and want something different to a city cycling tour. Baltazar brings you up a straightforward climb to the top of a hill centrally located in the city with great views. Then you can go back down the road or a doable mountain bike route! Great fun and good company!

Mountain biking round San Cristobal and the nearby mountains is completely amazing. I’ve done this each time I’ve visited Santiago and it is a highlight of my holiday. They have fabulous guides (and bikes) who adapt the downhill biking according to what you want. There are steep technical trails for experts as well as more gentle trails- all of which have amazing views. And you don’t have to travel since this is downtown Santiago!
