Paddle along the historic Anahulu stream, home of the Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles. These enormous and friendly sea creatures swim peacefully along the river. They can grow up to 500lbs!
Enjoy learning about the history of the location while learning skills and tips about stand up paddling. Come during the evening to enjoy a stunning Hawaiian sunset.
You will begin with a brief lesson on land and then paddle across a calm bay into the Anahulu stream. This activity is great for families, large groups, couples, or 1-on-1. All sessions include photos.
Don't have good balance? New to the sport? Don't know how to swim? No worries -- All our instructors are certified lifeguards, super friendly, and highly trained to give you an awesome experience on the water.

What To Expect
We will travel along Haleiwa Bay and up the Anahulu stream, home of the Green Hawaiian Sea Turtles. Although turtle sightings are not guaranteed, they are very common in our location. Whatever your experience level, we'll help you increase your stand up paddle ability. And PHOTOS are included! We, Rainbow Watersports, are the original stand up paddle school on Oahu's North Shore, making people happy for 13 years now. Come “Stand Up” for a great cause: a portion of our profits go toward Operation Underground Railroad to help rescue children from sex slavery. Our school, Rainbow Watersports, has been recognized in several media, including Rachel Raye's Every Day, Lifestrong, Huffington Post, Concierge.com, and more. We've been awarded TripAdvisor's Certificate of Excellence for 5 years straight, and have a 5-star rating on Yelp. Our instructors LOVE stand up paddling, connecting with guests, and having a good time. We are all certified lifeguards. 5.00This was my first SUP experience and also the most fun I had during my Hawaii trip. The river and nature was beautiful, saw a few turtles and other other wildlife, and Ivy the instructor was wonderful. Thank you!!

5.00Just returned home from my solo trip to Oahu. I've been wanting to try SUP forever and signed up with Rainbow Watersports for a private lesson. Kate was my instructor and she was so great!! She knew how nervous I was and my fear of drowning (I'm not a strong swimmer). She gave perfect instructions and once we were in calmer waters I was able to stand up easily! We had a great time talking and looking at the turtles along the way. We made a quick stop to visit "Uncle" - he sells coconuts and we had some fresh coconut milk for our ride back. That was an unexpected highlight for me and a memory I will treasure forever! The second time I got up to stand was pretty effortless, as I just took my time and remembered what Kate had told me to do. The time went by so fast. THANK YOU so much again to Kate - she's a treasure! If I make it back to the island again I for sure will look to see if she's there and take another lesson! Perhaps next time a night adventure will be crossed off my list! Thank you Kate!!

5.00The customer service during booking, communication regarding where to meet, and actual paddle board experience were all 5 star! My husband and I had a private lesson with Kate, she was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. We had an amazing time. 10 out of 10 highly recommend. Mahalo!

5.00This was my first time on a stand up paddleboard, and my husband's second. It was so fun and easy to learn, especially thanks to the great tips and instructions! We went down the river around sunset and saw probably about 10 or more sea turtles. Convenient location. Highly recommend! I was nervous about falling but it never happened. Photo of me and my young daughter who I put on the paddleboard after we got back from the river and had extra time.

5.00With a group of nine people Heidi, Eden, and kat did a great job teaching us now to properly paddle, stand, move etc. Even when some of us struggled they were patient with us and helped us gained confidence and keep going. Some of us for may have fallen, but it was all apart of the experience. Would definitely go again.

5.00We had an amazing time for our first time paddle boarding. Kate, our instructor, was a great teacher and a cool hang. She was especially good with our 9 year old daughter who had the time of her life. We would definitely recommend Rainbow Watersports. And make sure to ask for Kate!

5.00My parents had little to no swimming skills and Kate was very accommodating and made sure my parents felt comfortable. The view on the river was gorgeous and with the river’s calm waters, it was the best place to get well acquainted with the board. Kate was very kind, a good teacher, and if that’s your instructor, you have nothing to worry about. We also saw a turtle on the way back that waved at my brother and peeled its head out of the water to say hi. Definitely worth the money and I bet my parents will be talking about the experience for awhile.

5.00My wife and I signed up for an introductory paddle board lesson. It was a first time for us. I’m 66 and my wife is 59. Megan gave us an intro to the terminology of the equipment and demonstrated techniques with us while on the beach. She demonstrated how to mount the board and showed several seated positions, then demonstrated how to rise to a standing position. After practicing, she led us under the Rainbow Bridge up the local river past the taro fields of Haleiwa for a scenic tour. Her partner took photos of us from the bridge. We were Airdropped photos from both the bridge and on the water before we left. All in all, it was a fun experience!
