Amazing Street Food Experience in Ho Chi Minh City with Grace Exploring Ho Chi Minh City’s street food scene with Grace was an unforgettable experience. From the very first stop, she made us feel comfortable, safe, and truly immersed in local life. Grace is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about Vietnamese cuisine. She explained not only what we were eating, but also the history and culture behind each dish. We tasted a wide variety of authentic street food, visited places we would never have found on our own, and everything was absolutely delicious. The tour was well organized, perfectly paced, and felt very personal. Grace’s English is excellent, and her enthusiasm is contagious. This experience gave us a real taste of Ho Chi Minh City beyond the tourist spots. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to experience authentic Vietnamese street food and local culture. One of the highlights of our trip!

We planned our private street food tour for our very first night in Ho Chi Minh City, hoping for a crash-course immersion into Vietnamese culture, and Vejo absolutely delivered. Vejo (from Street Food Man) was everything we wanted and needed in a guide. He’s deeply passionate and incredibly knowledgeable about the city and its vibrant food culture, and his enthusiasm is contagious. Over the course of the evening, we moved through the city at a perfect pace, stopping at about ten different places and sampling an amazing range of flavors. We tried southern specialties like crispy bánh xèo and bánh khọt, beef wrapped in betel leaves, fresh sugarcane juice with kumquat, pan-fried rice cakes with egg and pickled papaya, and classic Saigon bánh mì with thick, satisfying fillings. The night continued with a lively “snails and beer” stop – grilled shrimp with chili sauce, scallops with scallion and peanuts, and Vietnamese fried chicken with fish sauce – before ending on a sweet note with coconut ice cream paired with avocado smoothie. What we loved most was that we experienced the city’s energy through Vejo. The tour was a whirlwind of flavors and textures – a feast for the eyes, the mind, the soul, and of course our very full bellies. We were clearly tourists, but we never felt like outsiders. Vejo’s genuine relationships with shop owners and cooks made us feel like friends dropping in rather than customers being passed along. Beyond Ho Chi Minh City, Vejo also shared insights about other regions we’re visiting in central and northern Vietnam, which gave us helpful context for the rest of our trip. He ended the evening by saying he’s not a tour guide, but a friend – and we fully intend to take him up on his offer to reach out with questions along the way. We couldn’t recommend this tour any higher.

This private street food walking tour in Ho Chi Minh City was a perfect introduction to Vietnamese food and culture, especially as first-time visitors. Anna was an outstanding guide, she was super knowledgeable, organized, and incredibly easy to spend time with. We tried a wide range of classic street foods, including grilled shrimp skewers, scallops, bánh mì, rice cakes with eggs, and local drinks. Anna explained each dish clearly, including what to expect flavor-wise and how locals typically eat it, which made trying new foods feel comfortable and approachable. Would definitely book again

We had a fantastic experience on this walking food tour in Vietnam. There were six food stops, and the pacing was just right — we ate well but never felt overly full or uncomfortable. Our guide, Katherine, was excellent. She always checked in about our food preferences and made accommodations when needed. She regularly asked if we needed water or a break and made sure we crossed busy streets safely, which we really appreciated. The food was delicious, especially the banh mi and the durian avocado ice cream, which was a fun and unexpected highlight. What really stood out was how thoughtful Katherine was. She gave us a small paper with useful Vietnamese phrases and took the time to teach us how to properly say thank you — “cảm ơn.” She also saved a lovely little surprise for the end of the tour, which was such a nice touch and a perfect way to finish the experience. Katherine was friendly, engaging, and great to talk with throughout the tour. If you’re booking this experience, I highly recommend trying to book with her — she made this one of our favorite parts of the trip.

We had a fabulous evening with Catherine, who took us to places we would never have gone, tyring food that we would never have tried. We feel we got to see how locas live and eat. Catherine was knowledgable and very caring, making sure that we were safe in the traffic at all times. She ensured that dietary requirements were accommodated and was very flexible on the evening. Catherine was also happy to share her story and was interested in ours. Would highly recommend!

Our guide Thuy, was fantastic, she took care of us, as if we were her family visiting her. The food was fantastic, the experience unforgettable. She even played babysitter when our kids needed the WC, whilst my wife and I could relax at dinner. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
