What To Expect
You will depart from your Shanghai hotel in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle to Shanghai Train Station to have a wonderful bullet train experience to Suzhou. Relax during the scenic on the road to the Humble Administrator's Garden in Suzhou city.

Typically, you will visit the famous humble administrators garden, an UNESCO World Heritage. Spend your relax morning strolling around the ancient house with delicate pavilions, corridors, ponds, rockeries, walkways and lush green trees. Enjoy the picturesque view and hear the rich history from your professional guide. Sitting in the pavilion beside the pond, feel like stepping back in history.

5.00Lulu was a wonderful guide. She accommodated all of our last-minute requests, including the silk museum which was very interesting. She explained a lot about Chinese history and healthy practices, including the nuances of Suzhou life and food, as opposed to Shanghai where we originated on this trip. We saw the Humble Administrators garden, but it was VERY busy, so we didn’t spend as much time there. The boat ride and rickshaw was fun, but I would have probably liked to have a bit more time to shop instead. It was fantastic to have guides and drivers to and within the stations, too. Overall, very fun day.

5.00Everything was excellent, just as described, with flexibility for our special requests. I highly recommend this tour and tour company. Now, the specifics. I planned a small-group private tour for a cruise visit to Shanghai. Our local coordinator, Alana, was ready to answer questions on everything from A to V -- for us, arrival coordination with a changing schedule to Visa questions for Americans and Aussies. When we arrived, Alana was there waiting in the terminal, escorting us to our driver. We transferred easily and comfortably to the Shanghai train station, where we met Xin, our guide for the day. With 30 years of English guiding experience, Xin was friendly, accommodating, full of knowledge and easy to understand. Arriving in Souzhou, our driver was waiting and whisked us to the Humble Administrator's Garden. Xin managed our differently-abled group smoothly and kindly through the crowded garden. After a fun rickshaw ride, we arrived at a local restaurant, where we were the only Westerners. With a little input on likes and dislikes, Xin ordered and explained an 8-dish meal which left us filled and delighted. From there, we finished the day in Sozhou with a temple visit, a walk on the city wall, and a canal boat ride, with Xin offering just the right balance of narration and time for us to wander for photos. On our return to Shanghai, we had requested a special night stop at The Bund. But the entire area was locked down as both Presidents Xi and Putin were participating in a waterfront event there. Still, Xin and our driver found us a side route to an open bridge, where we were able to capture our spectacular night photos. Later that night back on the ship, we spoke to others who had chosen the ship's excursions. When they heard about our experiences with a group of 8, all were extremely jealous of our schedule, meal, guide quality and overall experience. Plus, this tour was a GREAT value for eight people. We paid 15% less than the ship's tour, covered lots more sights, had a supremely better meal, and got the added night stop at the Bund which wasn't offered on the cruise tour. If you've read this far, take my advice: book this tour! Then work with Alana and your guide to plan and get a perfect day. Thanks again, Alana and Xin (and our drivers!) for a spectacular day.

5.00From start to finish, everything was planned so smoothly. Caroline was our tour guide. She was very warm, friendly and so knowledgeable with the history of each place we visited. She navigated us through the crowds and to our bullet train transfers so efficiently. We even got free Mandarin lessons from her through the day. We will be back with our families for sure. Thank you sweet Caroline!!!
