What To Expect
Elmina Castle
Set off on a 2-hour drive from the Takoradi port along a coastline marked with forts. On arrival in the Central Region, we will experience an hour's guided tour of the Elmina Castle, a well-preserved Castle and slave dungeon built by the Portuguese in 1482. Learn about its history and the pivotal role it played in the trans-Atlantic slave trade.
Elmina
Experience a walking tour through the Elmina township to view homes built in colonial style. Visit the colorful fishing harbor and the nearby vibrant fish market to interact with market women as they go about their daily activities. Take a stroll up to Fort Jago to enjoy spectacular views of the historical township of Elmina.

Amazing Day in Ghana

5.00William and Felix from Blas Tours were waiting for us as we got off our ship for the tour. They took us to small town where we walked around and heard a little of the history. We stopped at a beautiful church at the top of the hill before heading into town and the fish market. We could really feel the magic of what makes Ghana , Ghana. From there we went to the two historic castles followed by a delicious lunch. We could not have asked for more. All in all, an amazing day.

5.00This tour suited our purpose to a T. The guide listened to our interests and adjusted aspects of the tour as needed. He was knowledgeable and articulate, and so was the driver. Traffic is terrible, and the driver did a good job. In addition to touring the key attractions, the guide shared with us a lot about local life in Ghana, customs and other interesting facts.

5.00I arranged this excursion The History Tour, for 24 people and they all told me afterward what a great day they had. The visit to the fishing harbour was amazing and the castle guides were informative. Lunch was very good, served in lovely surroundings. We were on a 93-night cruise so communication was not always easy, due to lack of Wifi but Mimi always replied quickly to my messages and when we arrived at the port the 2 buses were waiting for us and all was in order. Very efficient. Because of some sickness on the ship, there were slightly fewer of us than there had been and I had been unable to communicate this to her, but there was no problem. A very nice lady. I would recommend this company

5.00Great driver and Guide. Be aware roads are quite rough, but our transport was comfortable. We enjoyed both the Castles and learnt a lot about them. The lunch was also very good
