Our family of 4 opted to go with a private tour and are very happy we found Peter. He gave clear instructions on where to meet him once we got off the ship. He was there promptly. He gave us a great overview of the area as we headed from the port to Te Puia. He also stopped at a kiwi fruit farm and explained the history and cultivation of the various types of kiwi. Peter pre-booked our time slots for Te Puia cultural performance and guided tour, as well as our canopy tree walk tour time. And we had enough time to do some souvenir shopping after the canopy tree walk. We enjoyed getting a local's perspective of the area and Peter was very knowledgeable about the area as he grew up there. We highly recommend having Peter give you a private tour of the Tauranga and Rotorua areas.

We decided on a private tour for our cruise excursion because no ship or small group tour had all the activities we wanted to do. Patrick certainly made this a memorable day! We unexpectedly learned so much about kiwis and how to grow and harvest them. The redwood tree walk was so fun, I felt like a kid! And it was so interesting to learn about Maori culture and crafts at Te Puia and see the amazing geyser. Couldn't have fit anything else in on this ~eight hour tour. Such a memorable day! Thanks Patrick!

We took a day trip off our cruise to see the Canopy Tree Walk. It’s over suspension bridge with an easy hike of a little over a half mile. The views are great. It isn’t all that different a view compared to walking on the ground but a different experience. We caught lunch along the way then on to Te Puia for the geysers. The geysers are the largest in the southern hemisphere & worth seeing. We found the Maiori school even more interesting. They create wood carvings, jewelry, & clothing from their heritage. On our way back to the ship, we stopped by a spa that used the mud from the thermal mud posts to help treat arthritis. It was a great tour & worth the money.

Had a wonderful time! Waited to see geyser go off. Last 10 minutes. Redwood canopy walk was beautiful and peaceful. Driver was professional and car roomy and clean. Patient when we were shopping but kept us moving to get back to ship on time. Was given drive tour thru Rotorua which was bonus. Only concern was pick up. Is at the exit at the ship port not down street at address shown so easier pick up. Really had a good time.

Patrick was the best tour guide, got an early start, we had plenty of time. Enjoyed the commentary, he answered all questions and made sure we knew where we were going. The whole was outstanding!! Thank you!

Walking on the man-made trails across the redwoods tree walking was exhilarating! A must experience for visitors, both day and night. My favourite was day walk as I could enjoy the tree trail in the natural light ❤️
