Negombo
Negombo is a charming coastal town located just 20 minutes from Sri Lanka’s main international airport (Bandaranaike International Airport - CMB). Known for its golden sandy beaches, vibrant fishing villages, and colonial history, Negombo offers a perfect blend of relaxation and culture. Explore the famous Negombo Lagoon, visit the lively fish market, and stroll through streets lined with beautiful old churches, earning Negombo the nickname "Little Rome." You can also enjoy a scenic boat ride through the Dutch canals, witness traditional catamaran fishing boats, and savor fresh seafood dishes at beachside restaurants. Negombo is not just a stopover city; it’s a place to experience authentic Sri Lankan coastal life, with a relaxed vibe, friendly locals, and plenty of sights to discover.
Sigiriya
Sigiriya is one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic landmarks and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Rising nearly 200 meters above the surrounding plains, this ancient rock fortress is often called the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” Climb the famous Lion Rock to discover stunning frescoes, the Mirror Wall, and the ruins of an ancient royal palace at the summit. The view from the top offers breathtaking 360-degree panoramic scenery of lush forests, villages, and distant mountains. At the base of the rock, wander through beautifully landscaped water gardens and boulder gardens, showcasing the advanced engineering skills of Sri Lanka’s ancient civilization. My husband Fabrizio and I visited Sri Lanka for 2 weeks in August and discovered a wonderful Asia full of surprises. Dinesh was our driver and travel companion: patient and helpful at our requests. Unfortunately, knowing English well has made it more difficult to deepen the relationship. We still got to know the culture and a welcoming population that has always smiled at us! Thank you.

I had a wonderful 8-day experience in Sri Lanka with Dinesh. He was not only a driver and a guide, but above all a true travel companion. He was very flexible with the planned itinerary, adapting it to my needs and interests. As a photography enthusiast, I asked for a less touristy route, and he fully met my expectations. I consider myself very lucky to have met him and will recommend him to anyone planning a trip to Sri Lanka.
