Seru Largu
You start the tour at Seru Largu, the most famous lookout point on Bonaire. From here, you overlook the capital Kralendijk and the entire southern tip of the island, including many of the places you will visit during the tour. On clear days, you can even see the neighboring island of Curaçao. At the top, you will find the bright yellow and white Millennium Monument with a white cross, placed in 2000 by Bonaire’s Council of Churches. The inscription “Kristu Ayera Awe Semper” translates to “Christ, yesterday, today and forever,” and the cross is visible from many parts of the island.
Lac Cai
Lac Cai is a local beach that should not be missed during your visit to the south of Bonaire. This paradisiacal sandy beach along the azure blue waters of Lac Bay has a relaxed end of the road vibe that feels far away from town. It is a favorite stop to stretch your legs and take beautiful photos, including shots of the small fishing boats, piles of conch shells, and the lone tree on the beach. Lac Cai is located in the heart of one of the island’s most important natural areas. The lagoon is part of the Bonaire National Marine Park, is internationally recognized as a Ramsar wetland and an Important Bird Area, and is valued for its mangrove forest, seagrass beds, and reef fringe. Along the way, your guide will share insights about this fascinating ecosystem and stop at one of the best places on Bonaire to observe flamingos up close.

Your review: We did the Mesmerizing Bonaire full-day tour yesterday and it was fantastic. Sebastian had the pacing just right: some driving, short easy walks, nice snack breaks, and we skipped the longer hikes since we didn't feel like it. He was totally cool with whatever we wanted. The island really opened up—wild scrub and brush up north, gorgeous beaches and town views on the west, the raw rugged east coast with the blowholes, and down south the old salt mines plus the flamingo sanctuary. Sebastian knows so much and very helpful. He answered every question we threw at him, and HopiBonaire also did a great job helping us in pre-planning. The salt mines history from how it started through present day back harvesting the 1 billion pounds they now produce. The flamingos were surprisingly fun to watch. He explained how they filter water and interact with each other. Even though we're not bird people, we enjoyed how he spotted parrots hiding in the cacti—he zoomed right in and got these amazing close-up shots. His photos were way better than ours, so we just put our cameras away and let him handle it. He will provide the photos to us. His photographic skill and equipment took amazing pictures and some are honestly stunning—especially the bird close-ups and the big scenic ones. Sebastian made the day feel easy, interesting, and really special. He's very helpful with questions, pre-planning, and tailoring things to your schedule. I would recommend him (and HopiBonaire) for any of the tours they offer based on Bonaire as much as enjoyed our day with HopiBonaire! 🏝️

This was a wonderful birding tour. The contact beforehand was easy and everything was well organised. Binoculars were provided and the explanations about the birds were clear and relaxed. I thought I already knew the island quite well, but he showed me new, beautiful places and nature. That made the tour truly special. I really enjoyed it and look back on it with a very warm feeling.
