What To Expect

Rincon De La Vieja Volcano National Park

We will start the day by checking in at Las Pailas Ranger Station (Santa María Ranger Station can be combined on another tour). We will hike Las Pailas Trail which is a loop of 2 miles that showcases a variety of ecosystems and unique geological features. The goal of the walk is to discover the intricate biome that inhabits the skirts of the Guanacaste Volcanic Range while experiencing the volcano's high-activity mud pools, fumaroles, and other signs of volcanic behavior.

Was a beautiful way to celebrate the birthday of a friend, easy hike, and lots of waterfalls and hotsprings, we learned a lot about mushrooms, butterflies and moths, our guide even showed us a snake.
