What To Expect
Khor Virap
Khor Virap – Armenian monastery, built in 642, translated from Armenian means “deep hole”. Khor Virap is one of the shrines of the Armenian Apostolic Church, a place of pilgrimage. The most interesting fact of this monastery is the fact that it was built on the site of the royal prison, where Gregory the Illuminator was previously imprisoned – the patron saint and the first official head of the Armenian Apostolic Church by the Armenian king for 13 years. From the territory of the monastery there is an unusual view of the biblical mountain Ararat.
Azat Reservoir
You will have a photo-stop near Azat Reservoir. It is one of the most beautiful reservoirs in the Republic of Armenia. It is located in the region Ararat and is quite close to the magical temple Garni. You have a great opportunity to visit this amazing place and see that gorgeous view.

5.00We booked a one-day private tour covering Khor Virap Monastery, Azat Reservoir, Garni Temple, the Symphony of Stones, and Geghard Monastery, and we truly enjoyed every moment. The staff and responsible manager Luiza were very responsive on WhatsApp, answering all our questions promptly. On the day of the tour, our driver Davit was professional and shared interesting information about the sites. The brand-new vehicle with A/C and WiFi was a real lifesaver during the hot summer.

5.00everything is great - the tour, the guide, the sights, the food the guide is knowledgeable and both the guide and the driver are friendly and flexible the weather was ever-changing but it's so great that it snowed at gerghard and then it was warm and sudden when we were at the gorge. The snow was an unexpected pleasant experience for us all
