The Grand Palace
The Grand Palace was constructed together with the founding of Bangkok in 1782 when King Rama 1 ascended to the throne and founded a new dynasty. The Grand Palace is very important as it used to be the palladium of the state. It was used for both the royal residence and the administrative center of the country in the government system of absolute monarchy. Today, the palace is used just for ceremonials. The architectural plan of this palace was almost identical in every detail to the Grand Palace of the former capital of Ayutthaya (about 600 years ago) because the King wanted to recreate the glory of the city as it was in the past. So it was completely first built in traditional Thai style. However, at various periods, the influences from other nations affect to the architecture in Thailand in different reigns such as the Chinese elements introduced by King Rama 3 in the early 19th century and the western building style introduced by King Rama 5 in the late 19th century.
Temple of the Emerald Buddha
The Emerald Buddha image, the most important Buddha image in Thailand is enshrined inside the ordination hall of the temple. The Emerald Buddha image wasn't cast from Emerald but was cast from high quality of green jade. We found the Buddha image in 1432. You come to Thailand, you should go and pray for your luck.

Great tour with our guide Som. She made the day so easy and enjoyable, super organised and knowledgeable. Ticked off all the listed sites with easy access. Refresher towels and chilled water to combat the humidity, nothing was too much trouble, highly recommended.

Som was an amazing guide! She was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and always looking to make the tour even more helpful and enjoyable! Not only was this an excellent tour, but I strongly recommend not doing this tour any other way except with a private guide who deftly and expertly guided us through so many of the details getting to each location efficiently! Top notch!!

We had such a lovely day exploring the Royal Palace and the beautiful temples. The colorful details at the Temple of Dawn made for some incredible family photos! Annie was the perfect guide for us very kind, welcoming, and having a great eye for photography, helping us capture wonderful memories together. The transition between the sites was very smooth, and crossing the river offered some lovely scenic views of the city. It was clear that a lot of care went into looking after us, and Annie ensured the atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable for everyone. Such a sweet and genuinely dedicated person to spend the day with. We felt very well taken care of throughout the trip. Highly recommend booking with Annie!

This tour is a must-do, and if you can get Poppy, do it! It was the absolute best decision for our trip to Bangkok. Exploring the Grand Palace and Emerald Buddha was breathtaking the details and the gold are just out of this world. Poppy is an incredible guide, being very observant and knowing all the little details that made the experience so much richer. The whole day felt seamlessly organized. Visiting Wat Pho to see the giant reclining Buddha was amazing, and the entire pace of the tour was perfect. Poppy was so attentive, making sure we had plenty of water and breaks in the shade since it was incredibly hot. Crossing the river to Wat Arun was another highlight, and the colorful temple is stunning. Poppy really took wonderful care of us and made us feel so comfortable. This was the highlight of our visit to Thailand. Thank you, Poppy, for being such a wonderful and genuinely sweet person!

I cannot recommend this tour enough! We spent an incredible day exploring Bangkok’s most iconic temples, and our guide made the entire experience seamless and deeply enriching. Her knowledge of the history, architecture, and cultural significance of each site—from the Grand Palace to Wat Pho—was truly impressive. What really made the day special was her fantastic personality. She is incredibly funny and personable, making the history come alive with great stories and keeping us laughing throughout the walk. It felt less like a formal tour and more like exploring the city with a knowledgeable friend. Additionally, she has an incredible eye for photography. Not only did she navigate the crowds to find the best vantage points, but she also took stunning photos of us throughout the entire tour. It was such a luxury to be able to fully immerse ourselves in the beauty of the temples without constantly worrying about capturing the perfect shot. If you are looking for a guide who is professional, insightful, and goes above and beyond to ensure you leave with both great memories and beautiful photos, look no further. This was easily the highlight of our trip!

My wife and I went in April, which is the summer season here. Since the temples require you to wear long pants, try to find something that is light and cool in fabric, as you are going to be hot. With that said, our guide, Angie, was very knowledgeable, and helpeful throughout the tour. We saw all the sites in a timely manner and Angie got us to our air-conditioned car quickly after each site to cool off and rejuvenate. Our driver was also great as he always had cold water waiting for us in the car. I learned a lot about the temples and religion of Thai people and the karma that goes with. Thanks again, Angie for a great experience in Thailand.

We had such a wonderful time exploring the Grand Palace and the temples with Cherry. The Palace is absolutely stunning, and Cherry knew all the best spots to take beautiful photos of us without the big crowds. She is so sweet and has a great sense of humor! Wat Pho was incredible the Reclining Buddha is huge! And we loved crossing the river to see Wat Arun. Cherry was so attentive the whole day, always checking if we were okay and giving us cold water. She made our trip to Bangkok truly special. Highly recommend booking with her!

Me and my bestie had the best time. Puala is so bubbly and fun to hang out with. She helped us make sure our outfits were okay for the Palace (they are strict!). Wat Arun was our favorite part.
