Dani was an amazing tour guide! He got us everywhere safely. We did a private tour (the wives) while the husbands went zip lining. We went to the sloth and monkey sanctuary, the iguana sanctuary, and the chocolate factory with great local shopping at each location.

Absolutely great tour given by Orlando. He was very knowledgeable about the island and drove us safely and expertly around Roatan’s hilly terrain. Mayan Eden was so much fun and the sloths and monkeys were our favorites. After visiting the Chocolate Factory and getting some ice cream, Orlando took us to a wonderful restaurant with a beautiful overlook and great food. Thank you RTGA!!!

We had a great time on this excursion! Our driver Lisbeth was wonderful and didn’t just drive us to the sanctuary but brought us to a great spot for pics! She also offered additional stops if we wanted. She was very knowledgeable about the island and gave us great info on the way to & from the sanctuary (she waited for us so no delays making our way back.) the sanctuary was great - we got to take pictures with a sloth (no holding allowed), feed monkeys, see butterflies & beautiful birds!

Let me preface this review by saying that we had a private tour with the party of 12. Catering to the individual needs of a group that big can be very challenging. First, the tour provider; This tour provider was amazing!!! They far exceeded our expectations in both their customer service and attention to detail. Our tour guide Darby was especially memorable. Her and our driver went out of their way to make sure that our needs were met. Even without being asked she was able to tell where a potential problem could have lied and made adjustments to fix that problem immediately. She made us feel valued as customers and provided an experience that was truly one-of-a-kind. If the tour provider owner is reading this, Darby is definitely a staff member you wouldn’t want to lose!!! As for the animal sanctuary; It was wonderful and exceeded my expectations. The capuchin monkeys were a highlight of the experience. I loved that it was a sanctuary with free roaming animals that interacted with you opposed to a zoo like feel where you had to go into cages for interactions. Our tour guide at the sanctuary was knowledgeable, informative, and brought a sense of fun and intimacy to the interaction. As for the West Bay Beach; It was simply amazing! The turquoise waters and white sand beaches were perfect. The resort pool was beautiful situated near the beach and under a jungle canopy. He was very tranquil and a perfect experience for our group that love to just lay and read in the shade. We had a personalized weight staff who was on top of our every need constantly. Even though the drink and food prices seem reasonable, I would expect to pay at least $200.00 per couple for an afternoon of drinking and eating. Overall, this was an amazing one of a kind experience that I would highly recommend for any group of any size.

We had an amazing time on our private tour to the Monkey & Sloth Sanctuary! From start to finish, the experience was unforgettable. Our guide Angel at the sanctuary, was not only professional but also extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He made us feel at ease and shared fascinating insights about the local wildlife and culture. We had the chance to take pictures with the monkeys, sloths, and even toucans, which our son absolutely loved. It was such a fun and educational experience that we highly recommend to others visiting the area. After our visit to the sanctuary, we made our way to a local Chocolate Factory, where we learned all about the chocolate-making process. The staff was incredibly welcoming, and the shop was beautifully arranged with a wide selection of chocolate products. We even had the chance to taste some of the delicious chocolate! Dani, our tour guide, actually gave us the presentation about how chocolate is made, and he did a fantastic job explaining everything in detail. His knowledge of the process was impressive, and it made the experience even more enjoyable. The Chocolate Factory was located in a great spot, right in the downtown area of Roatan, with a lovely beach just on the other side. Afterward, we explored the area, enjoyed a coffee at a nearby shop, and then followed Dani’s recommendation to try some delicious Salvadorian pupusas next door. They were absolutely amazing, and the restaurant owner was so friendly and attentive—it was the perfect end to our tour. After about 3 hours of exploring, we were back at our cruise ship, feeling like we’d experienced some of the best of what Roatan had to offer. Dani truly made the day special with his insights into the history of the island and Honduras as a whole. This tour was definitely the highlight of our cruise, and we can’t wait to return for a longer visit. We will certainly be using Dani’s services again in the future! One tip: be sure to call the phone number on your reservation before leaving the port to meet your guide. I booked last minute and missed that detail, but Dani was easy to reach and we met up without any issues. He also speaks very good English so communicating was not a problem. Highly recommend this tour!
