What To Expect
Mutianyu Great Wall
Hotel pick-up at your downtown hotel lobby. We will then drive directly to the Mutianyu Great Wall, famous for its stunning natural scenery—lush forests and vibrant landscapes that transform beautifully with each season. Located in Huairou District, northeast of Beijing, this section is approximately 75 kilometers from the city center. As one of the best‑preserved and most picturesque sections of the Great Wall, Mutianyu historically served as a vital northern defensive barrier protecting the capital. You may take the cable car up to the wall. You can choose to hike along the wall to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views, or take the cable car down or Chairlift up and toboggan ride for a fun and memorable descent. At the end of the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

5.00We booked our tour to the Great Wall of China through Tripadvisor, and our guide Lucy was absolutely amazing! She arrived right on time to pick us up from the hotel and shared fascinating stories about the history of the Great Wall as well as Chinese history during the drive. She made the entire day so easy and stress-free so we could just relax and follow her lead. Lucy guided us around the Great Wall, treated us to some delicious ice cream, and took us on a short visit to a jade factory where I even did some shopping. She also helped us pick out souvenirs for our family. To top it all off, she made our dream come true by finding us a Pakistani restaurant on the way back to the hotel — something we had been craving for the last two weeks! Thank you, Lucy, for such an unforgettable day, and thank you to Tripadvisor for this wonderful experience.

From the start of the day she provided us with lots of knowledge and background of the wall, Emperors and details of China. Once at the wall she continued to provide excellent information, whilst also making sure we had plenty of pictures and photo opportunities. We never felt rushed at all during our day. 5.00I had a great time on the tour. Megan was a wonderful guide very nice and funny and very knowledgeable about Beijing and the great wall. She was reassuring when i was scared to take the toboggan down and I had a great time. she made sure we were taken care of and safe and had a good time. I was also nervous to go up and down the steep stairs on the great wall but she helped me feel better and helped me take some photos. very great experience overall and I’d highly recommend!
