Your journey begins with pick-up in Munich, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, or Füssen, where a comfortable vehicle with drinks awaits.
At Neuschwanstein Castle, discover Ludwig’s grand vision of a medieval fantasy world. Enjoy a guided tour inside and explore the castle exterior and scenic spots. Capture breathtaking views from Marienbrücke before we head for a Bavarian lunch.
Next, visit Linderhof Palace, inspired by Versailles and the only one of Ludwig’s palaces he saw completed. Tour its lavish Rococo interiors, then stroll through the exquisite gardens, fountain complex, and the romantic Moorish Kiosk—a testament to his love for exotic architecture.
On the way back, soak in Alpine views and hear more about Ludwig’s mysterious life.

Your adventure begins in the morning with a pick-up from your Munich accommodation. As we leave Munich behind, the rolling hills, charming villages, and lush countryside of Bavaria unfold before you. Along the way, we’ll pass picturesque landscapes and enjoy breathtaking viewpoints that showcase the region’s natural beauty. Soon, we arrive at the iconic Neuschwanstein Castle, perched like a fairytale palace among the Bavarian Alps. Surrounded by towering peaks, forests, and sparkling lakes, this legendary castle offers a truly magical experience. Explore its stunning architecture, take in the panoramic views, and immerse yourself in the storybook charm that inspired kings, artists, and dreamers for generations.
As soon as we have arrived at the fairy tale Neuschwanstein Castle, you will explore the palace on a small-group guided tour. Following up we will have plenty of great photo opportunities, be it the castle itself, the old Marienbrücke, or the spectacular surrounding mountain area.

5.00I’ve done my fair share of daytrips with guides in Europe. This is hands down the best! We spent 11 hours with Sepp. I’m not sure he took a breath the whole time. Between chatting it up with my father in law while driving to and from castles, goofing around with my boys (9 and 11), and charming my mother-in-law, husband and myself….he never rested! We have gushed about Sepp every day since. He was prepared with foods and drinks that fit everyone’s wishes. He was prompt on pick up. He took care of every small detail. Lunch was fantastic, he knew the best place. He was an excellent driver….while he didn’t do 150 mph like my son wanted, he did 110 and we never felt a thing! He was also an amazing dresser…even turned my husband on to a great store in Munich so we could get him similar local clothing!! Can’t wait for next date night out! You might look at the cost and think twice. But it’s like buying a car. Pay a bit more for the bells and whistles and you’ll never regret it. Sepp is the Porsche of tour guides. We will be back to visit him again. Guaranteed.

5.00We have been using Viator for years. We have had a few excellent guides, but Sepp was hands down the best guide we have ever had from Viator. Sepp took care of every detail, even money to use the toilet. You should request for Sepp for any tours in the Munich area!

5.00Sepp was our guide for a private tour of Neuschwanstein Castle and Linderhof Palace. As part of the tour, we also had a very pleasant lunch with Sepp. My husband and I both agreed that he was perhaps the best guide we have ever had. Sepp is very outgoing and does all that he can to make each tour memorable for those involved. In addition, he is knowledgeable and well organized. He is enthusiastic and seems to enjoy the tour as much as his clients do. We highly recommend Sepp for any of the many tours he offers. Cheryl K USA

5.00The Private Tour to Neuschwanstein & Linderhof Castle with Bavarian Lunch was one of the best highlights to our 20 day trip that we did in Europe. It was a great way to transition from a Beaches of Normandy 12-day bus tour to then be picked up and driven by Sepp who was such a fantastic, great fun, personable and knowledgeable guide. He provided great snacks and drinks for the long drive that we had, highlighted interest history and facts of each area we drove through or went to and we enjoyed his company. The tour itself was good, the walk to the castle was long and challenging, however Sepp provided multiple options for folks that may have some mobility options to get or go from the castle for which two of our parties took the horse drawn carriage back down from the castle. The cable car ride in Zipspitz was amazing. Sites at top were amazing.. Highly recommend this tour and especially the tour guide.

5.00We had 2 wet days with the Bavarian, however, the inconvenience was well overshadowed by the knowledge, professionalism, and humor of Sepp. We tremendously enjoyed the time with him. Do yourself a favor and strongly consider his tours.

5.00Sepp did an amazing job as a tour guide and chauffeur! Everything was thoughtfully tailored to our likes and dislikes from the initial food/beverage inquiry when I had just booked the tour to stopping at the cutest cheese shop on the way to Linderhof to get local cheese and craft beer. We had just a fun and enjoyable time on this tour and would highly recommend it!

5.00Our accommodation was in Schliersee, an hour’s train ride from Munich. Lucky for us, I found Sepp online and he was keen to work with me to arrange our sightseeing with pick ups. I booked the castles day trip, the Zugspitze day trip and the Munich old town walking tour. From the moment that I reached out to Sepp he was very responsive as we set about planning, booking and paying for our bookings in advance. I’m pleased that I booked directly with Sepp and we were in touch with each other directly. It all worked out beautifully and we had the most wonderful three days. Sepp went out of his way for us over and over again. I don’t want to spoil the surprises for others so won’t say what the surprises were but we were super impressed from start to finish. As a group of 7 including a two year old, it was a delight to sit back, relax and enjoy our non local outings. Sepp showed us some of the most outstanding experiences in Bavaria. He was super easy to get along with, experienced, knowledgeable, flexible and fun. He managed everything from tickets to food and drinks. Our private tours were very personal and professional. Our memories of Newschwanstein & Linderhof Castles, the gondola ride to the top of the Zugspitze, stepping out into the falling snow then back down again on the heritage train and wandering around old Munich Town with Sepp as our guide and as a family will never be forgotten. To say that I highly recommend Sepp for whatever it is that you want to do, is an understatement. He’s the best private your guide we’ve had anywhere in the world.
