What To Expect
Tsakhkadzor
Tsaghkadzor is cozy city in Kotayk province of Armenia, a popular ski and climatic resort, which translated from Armenian means “Gorge of Flowers”. Already in the V century BC became aware of the curative properties of the local climate. And the nature here is indescribable! Here you will see mountains, snow-capped peaks, swift rivers, steep cliffs, picturesque valleys covered with flower carpet, dense forests and medicinal springs, among them well-known Arjahpyuru and Ttujur. In Tsakhkadzor you will find all the conditions for a good rest and sport. There are many children’s camps, rest homes. Also the main sports complex of the country was also built, which brought Tsakhkadzor international fame. In Tsakhkadzor You can ride on the aerial cable car and enjoy the beautiful view of the bright blue Sevan, Greater and Lesser Ararat.
Kecharis Monastery
The monastery complex Kecharis was erected in the XI century in Tsakhkadzor. In the 12th-13th centuries, Kecharis was considered a major cult center of Armenia, which had a higher school. The complex consists of three churches, two chapels and a porch, to the west of which, another church with its porch. The main temple is the church of St. Gregory, the first building of the monastery erected by Grigor Magistros Pahlavuni in 1003. The Surb Nshan church is a small structure erected in the XI century, probably soon after the first church. To the south of this church stands the church of Katogike, which was built in the time of Prince Vasak Khakhpakyan or Proshyan (the first quarter of the 13th century) by the architect Vetzik, in memory of which the original cross-stone carvings were staged. The chapel adjacent to the church of St. Gregory served as the burial-vault of the founder of the monastery of Grigor Magistros Pahlavuni, dated to the 11th century.

5.00We really enjoyed our tour with Nina and Tigran. Nina was an outstanding and wonderful guide - so knowledgeable, engaging and easy to listen to (we could listen to her for hours!). Tigran was an excellent driver, always attentive and thoughtful, even opening the door for us each time. Both of them were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Nina always checked in to see if we wanted to spend more time at different stops. They made the whole experience comfortable and memorable. We went to some amazing places like Lake Sevan, Dilijan, Tzgahakadzor, Lake Parz - we wouldn’t have been able to have had the same experience without Nina’s stories and Tigran’s skilled driving. Thank you Nina and Tigran!!

4.00Very nice tour outside Yerevan. 1 day between lake, mountain and forest. All sites are worth a visit except maybe Parz Lake if you haven’t scheduled time for boating or hiking in the forest and you don’t have children. Great lunch by Lake Sevan in a typical local restaurant.

5.00This has to be the best single-day travel experience I have ever had. Nothing else comes close. I have never seen such an absurd number of beautiful places back-to-back in a single day. All the sights were simply breathtaking. I initially thought the comments online calling Dilijan the "Switzerland of Armenia" would end up feeling like a stretch of the truth, so much so that I was fully prepared to be let down, but I was pleasantly surprised just how beautiful this part of Armenia is. I couldn't take my eyes off the scenery as we drove through the region. It was all truly majestic. The descent from the top of the ropeway was also a scene to behold. What I was seeing with my own eyes just seemed surreal, as if I had been transported to another world. Yes, this may sound like hyperbole, but it is simply because I have no other way of describing just how truly incredible the sheer beauty on display was. Moving on to the tour itself, I honestly cannot imagine how it could have been any better. Our driver, Tigran, was phenomenal. He was very friendly and funny, not just during the first couple of hours of the tour, but throughout its entirety. I sincerely hope Jan Armenia is paying this man what he deserves. Most notably, he was patient with us the entire time. The tour we had gone on prior to this one was also good, but everything felt a bit rushed. This was not the cased with Tigran. There were two locations we were so in love with that we ended up spending more time than what had been recommended. Not once did Tigran complain or try to drive faster to compensate. We actually ended up exceeding our so-called "9-hour" tour. Tigran also recommended a great restaurant in Dilijan for dinner. The food we had there was easily one of the top three best meals we have ever had. Near the end of the tour, the tour operator also reached out personally to see if we were satisfied with everything, which I felt was a nice touch. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would highly recommend visiting all the included locations and doing so with Jan Armenia, in general, and Tigran, in particular.

The whole trip was just awesome and special shoutout to our guide Tigran for managing to get to all places and in helping us choose souvenirs to take back home.
