Kecharis Monastery
Kecharis medieval monastery complex is located in the northwestern part of city Tsaghkadzor. It is noteworthy not only with architectural originality, but also with its interesting story. His formation lasted 220 years, with over 150 years of interruption. Such fate was due to the peculiarities of the historical period. The construction of the monastery began during the reign of the Bagratuni dynasty, and continued by the Pahlavuni dynasty. The first church in the area of Kecharis monastic complex, St. Gregory the Illuminator, was built in 995-1003, and then other sacred places were built. The Kecharis monastery includes three churches, St. Gregory the Illuminator with a domed hall, St. Nshan and St. Cathoghike churches, two chapels and a courtyard. A little further to the west, on the way to the forest there is another church – St Harutiun. Unlike similar monasteries of Armenia, Kecharis’ main structures form a straight corner on their own pillars.
Lake Sevan
The high-mountainous Lake Sevan is the “pearl of Armenia”. Lake Sevan – located at an altitude of 1,900 m above sea level in the center of the Armenian highland, 63 km northeast of the Armenian capital of Yerevan city and is the largest of the Caucasus lakes. From all sides, Sevan is surrounded by mountain ranges, offering a stunning view of alpine lake.. The lake is famous for its purest fresh water, and pure mountain air has a beneficial effect on health.

Good experience. All the places have their own charm. Its nice to be picked up and dropped off at your hotel. A little bit pricey, ultimately paying for a cab ride.

We saw the beautiful sceneries of Lake Sevan, the mystic athmospheres of Sevananank and Kecharis monasteries, and the autumnal colors of Tsaghkadzor ropeway. Thank you so much to our driver mr. Bagrat Avetisyan, a very professional driver and the kindest person! We definitely recommend.

Me and my daughters recently visited the beautiful and historical places of Yerevan and around with Jan Armenia Tours (private 4 days). A big thanks to Samvel and Tigran (2) and their team, who made our journey safe and a memorable trip. These three were the best guides and could speak English very well. Samvel drove safely on mountainous roads, while Tigran knowledge of local spots helped us to do local shopping at our convenience. Whether it were monasteries, cliffs, going on ropeway, or views of Lake Sevan or any other place, they made sure we were comfortable and happy . The tour itself was organized properly, they were always on time. Thanks to our tour expert Gulliver travels from UAE who introduced them to us and thanks to Jan Armenia for making this short trip memorable.

Airport Pickup – Driver: Tigran Tigran picked us up from the airport and drove us to our hotel. Although we didn’t spot him immediately, he was holding a sign with our name, which was very helpful and thoughtful. He speaks good English and made the ride comfortable by communicating with us throughout the journey. We truly appreciated his assistance. Tour: Tsaghkadzor, Kecharis Monastery, Sevan Lake, Sevanavank – Driver: Gevorg Gevorg doesn't speak English, but he was incredibly kind and accommodating. Despite the language barrier, he did his best to help with our needs. He even offered to take a photo of me and my friend and it turned out really nice! His friendliness made the experience enjoyable. City Tour – Driver: Mher Mher also doesn't speak English, but we appreciated how hard he tried to accommodate us. When we started the trip, we realized we had left our camera at the hotel. Even though communication was challenging, we managed to explain the situation to him and despite the traffic situation, he willingly drove back to the hotel for us to get it. So he took us around the city and to a winery. Unfortunately, it started raining heavily while we were there. The car was parked about a 10-minute walk away, and although we offered to book him a cab, he insisted on walking back in the rain to get the car for us, which we truly appreciated. His kindness, patience, dedication, and effort really stood out, and we’re very thankful for his help. Airport Drop-Off – Driver: David David arrived on time to take us to the airport. He speaks good English, and we had a pleasant chat during the short trip. Though it was brief, we appreciated how courteous and professional he was. Overall, the experience was great. The only downside was that we received our free SIM cards on the second day, so we ended up buying one on the first day when we could have gotten it for free.

Our agency in Dubai made an amazing choice to book our 2day tour with Janarmenia. The staff were very professional and accomodating in handling their customers. The drivers they assigned to us were very kind and helpful, they are good in speaking in english and very knowledgable and giving us some backgroud history of the places we were visiting. They also arrange our transport from airport to the hotel and vice versa and they also book the restaurants we eat during the tours. We are very thankful to the management and staffs of Janarmenia who made sure we were always safe and enjoying our trip in Armenia and they've given us a special gift also on our last day of the tour. We like to say special thanks to Arman and Mary for their assistance and exceptional service to us. We very much recommend Jan Armenia for travel/tours requirements.

One of the best tour agencies I’ve ever traveled with! They were very communicative throughout the entire experience. Our driver, Karen, was incredibly kind and informative—he explained everything we were passing and made the journey so enjoyable. He was also very supportive and made us feel safe with his excellent driving. Thank you, Jan Armenia!
