Learn about the Polynesian way of life, its customs, geology, flora, fauna and history. I have lived in on Tahiti since 1993. I married a Polynesian in 1995. I have the impression that I was destined to become a guide, in fact my husband Coco’s family name is Faaterehia which can mean to guide and I just adore guiding visitors around this stunning island. Perhaps there is something to the Polynesians belief that the name you give your children can influence their character. Today I am one of the most experienced guides on Tahiti and id be delighted to show you some of our sites. Places visited will depend on the time available, tours can be personalized and include a maximum number of sites depending on the length of the tour chosen. I also have other tour options listed such as city tours and west or east coast tours

5.00We did a private tour with Lydia and it was everything we hoped for. Lydia is very knowledgeable about the local sites and was really funny too. When we return to Tahiti, we'll use Lydia again for sure.

5.00We traveled with group of ten Both drivers are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the island . We travelled with our elderly parents. They are very sincerely friendly and extremely careful helping us to assists our parents up and down the vans. Our family really appreciated their kindness. The tour is great , on time. They pick us up at the airport 5 hours tours and drop us off at the pier for our cruise. Everything just great. Thank you again.

5.00My sister and I had the most AMAZING full day tour with Lydia. She picked us up from our hotel in her blue van (very comfortable!). We told her we most wanted to see the Wave at Teahupoo, and so she gave us some options for the tour route tailored to our interests. We started out through Papeete, and drove around the island, stopping at several great viewpoints and a beautiful waterfall along the way. Lydia is very knowledgeable about Tahitian history and culture, and she tied the information to our stops around the island. She has a map of Tahiti that she references and uses to explain things visually. We were so glad we did this tour at the start of our trip! We ate lunch at a "snack" (restaurant/cafe) near Teahupoo (you are responsible for paying for lunch, but Lydia has recommendations and can help you order) - we had burgers and fish sandwiches, and they were delicious. Next, Lydia helped us to secure a taxi out to the wave at Teahupoo - this is an optional part of the tour, but I highly recommend. We paid our own taxi fare; it was around $25 (2500cfp) per person. After a great boat trip to experience Teahupoo, we met back with Lydia and continued our way around the other side of Tahiti, where we stopped at the beautiful Water Gardens (and tried breadfruit chips!) and Maraa Grotto, a lava tube cave. We were so glad we were able to book a full-day tour, but even a half-day would have been worth it to have Lydia show us the island and teach us about Tahiti and its people! Communication with Lydia was very easy over Whatsapp, we had no problems contacting her about pickup location or letting her know if there were specific things we wanted to see! For reference, my sister and I are 22 & 25, and from the US. Lydia is originally from England, so we had no language barrier. She also speaks great French and is respected by the locals, so there were no issues with travel or accessing any of the tour locations. We had the best experience and I HIGHLY recommend you book your Tahiti tour with Lydia!!

5.00Lydia's tour was excellent. She arrived at our hotel promptly and provided us with a good background of information on the culture and history of Tahiti. She took us to a variety of sites including a lava cave, waterfalls, water gardens, surfing site, and more. The circle road was closed and under construction due to a landslide, but she timed our tour so that we arrived at the closure just as it opened back up.. Excellent planning.

5.00We had such a great time on this tour! Everything was really well organized, and we got to see all the main spots – marae, Tiki statues, a beautiful waterfall, and a cool cave. It felt really personal and not touristy at all. Lydia is amazing – she knows everything about Tahiti and French Polynesia and made the whole day super interesting and fun. Totally recommend it!

5.00There is no one more qualified to perform a tour of Tahiti! My wife and I chose the full day tour with two couples we met on the cruise ship Oceania Regatta. Lydia was excellent in correspondence prior to the tour. She met us immediately after we disembarked, which avoided any confusion on where to go to meet up. She hel'ped arrange appropriate luggage arrangements. Her tour is'' well thought out and detailed. Her knowledge of the Tahiti market place, history, governing bodies, botanics, housing, and points of interest were AMAZING…but more importantly, she knows how to entertain and teach at the same time, which is a unique trait that most exceptional guides must have. All three couples had a very special day exploring Tahiti with Lydia, and we would advise you to take part in an excellent adventure with her as well.

5.00My wife and I really enjoyed our time with Lydia. On this trip we were only able to spend one day on Tahiti. For this reason we vowed to make the most of the day by booking a tour with Lydia. Lydia made this trip exceptional with her vast knowledge of the Polynesian culture. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who hasn’t experienced a tour like this and would recommend you do this tour early on in your stay as it will help make sense of the Polynesian culture.
