I don't impose a limit of time for the visit of each monument, it will depend on you.
There's no hurry in this tour, ending time doesn't exist. My goal is that, at the end, you're satisfied.

What To Expect
Palacio Nacional e Jardins de Queluz
This is the first monument to visit, it takes around 1:30h to visit. I'll be waiting for you for the next monument. The National Palace of Queluz, also known as Queluz Royal Palace, is a Portuguese royal residence, in the municipality of Sintra, which was built as such between 1747 and 1760 on the project of the architect Jean-Baptiste Robillon and at the behest of Prince Pietro (Pedro) III (1717-1786) husband of Queen Maria I (1734-1816) who transformed a pre-existing country residence. Called the "Versailles of Portugal", the palace was used above all as a place of entertainment for the royal family: concerts, bullfights and fireworks were held there, especially on the occasion of religious holidays or other events. Queen Maria I lived here for many years, but otherwise the palace was not very frequented by the royal family. It is still used for concerts and as a reception place for foreign heads of state, it also houses the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art. Ticket costs 10eur

5.00Amazing! I have not one negative thing to say about this tour. Antonio was the best. He goes above and beyond to make your trip wonderful. He will plan the tour for you, or if you have places that you want to see, he will take you there. I wish we would have had more time. We visited places that would just not have been easy to do on our own. If I ever make it back to Portual, I will be reaching out for his assistance.

5.00I've traveled the world and always use tour guides to introduce each destination, but this was the best. Antonio went above and beyond my expectations to craft the ideal Sintra experience. We visited multiple sites, hiked, and added visits I didn't think of taking, but I'm glad we did. This includes returning along the beautiful west coast beaches instead of the highway. He was easy to travel with, very knowledgeable, and enjoys showing the best of Portugal. I will recommend him to my "nomad" friends and highly recommend this trip and tour guide to all who love the best of travel.

5.00I booked this private tour with Antonio based solely on all of his incredible reviews - and they were not wrong! Antonio is an incredible host, guide and tour operator. He is punctual, thoughtful, warm, and overflowing with deep knowledge of the history and facts of all of the stops along the way. We were also able to take advantage of his "insider" connections and familiarity with the various landmarks - he knew what times were less busy, we were able to skip line ups, and stop at the best shops for coffee, treats, photo ops and souvenirs. Antonio's van is perfectly equipped and immaculately maintained. He offered bottles of water throughout the day, and the air conditioning provided a much needed reprieve between stops. I would recommend this tour to absolutely anyone, of any age (as long as physical mobility isn't an issue - there are a tonne of steps and stairs!), that is visiting Lisbon - don't miss out on Sintra and Portugal's incredible coastline. Antonio packed everything in that we wanted to see, and was happy to make adjustments based on our personal preferences. The value for the cost of his tour is stellar - absolutely worth every penny. I highly recommend investing this day into your trip to Lisbon. We were so grateful to have Antonio show us these spectacular sights, and he was more than happy to take photos for us throughout. Thank you, Antonio, for a tour that I will remember for my lifetime!

5.00Antonio is the perfect guide! Kind, friendly, very knowledgeable, speaks excellent English, well organized, punctual, good driver, professional… and good company! We’re so glad we booked him for our day tour in Sintra! We were able to see and do much more than if we had tried to do it ourselves by car or train.. and so much less hassle. These palaces and castles are such busy places, but Antonio knows exactly which routes, places to stop, recommendations, etc to make the day as easy and efficient as possible. He had great ideas on other places to include or not, and we appreciated his flexibility to customize the day as we wanted! We are really, really glad we booked Antonio for a special day!! We’re sure he would be a great choice for another destinations in the area as well, and will keep him in mind in future. Thanks!!

5.00In a nutshell: incredible experience, well worth every penny. Antonio clearly loves his job and provides such an amazing day, tailored to the person / group. I'm so grateful I found him! The backstory: I'm a seasoned traveler. Did I need a guide to get to Sintra? Clearly not (I can use guidebooks and AI to help!) But friends had used Antonio on their trip and strongly recommended him. After trying to sort out transportation alone to Sintra and between the castles and more, I decided it was worth trying to use an expert to navigate things. And holy heck, was it the right choice! Antonio met me outside my hotel at 8:30 am, and from there we sped off to the first of... 6? 7? castles? (I was jetlagged.) What I loved about this experience is, sure, you'll get to see Pena Palace and any other big spot, but Antonio takes you to the hidden gems, gives you insight into the stories behind them, helps you skip the crowds and see what really matters in a quiet, personalized manner. We went from the first castle to grab coffee and a pastel de nata, along with a lunch to-go, and then we were off into the heart of Sintra. Throughout the course of the day, Antonio expertly guided me from sight to sight. There was hiking, climbing, all the history, and more. Because you're with someone who knows the area so well, it's a great way to maximize a single day and squeeze in SO much more than you can do on your own! To top it all off, we had our amazing picnic lunch in the sunshine, staring at a beautiful old home in a quiet park (truly — still dreaming of this lunch.) But maybe what I love the most is that Antonio will help you see everything AND avoid the crowds. For someone who's only got a day in Sintra, this is clutch. We wrapped our day with stops in Cascais, Cabo da Roca, and a secret abandoned monastery. It's a long day, but just incredible. And to top everything off: a few days later I messaged Antonio and he provided recommendations for Fado. This is clearly a man who loves his job, loves his city, and loves helping people love it even more! Antonio, thank you. I can't wait to return.

5.00Absolutely AMAZING experience. Not only was Antonio the most amazing tour guide I have ever had, he was such a sweet and patient person. He went out of his way soooo many times to make sure we felt good and we’re accommodated ! We got to pick the places we wanted to see and he was so informative and went in with us to every stop to make sure we got the best experience out of it. I wouldn’t usually take time to write a review but he was truly that incredible!

5.00My husband and I went on a private tour of Sintra with Antonio. He was wonderful. We saw a variety of sites, both historical and natural and he knew details about everything. My husband uses an electrical assist wheelchair and Antonio quickly learned what sites would be the best for us. Additionally he helped carry the chair over steps and curbs. Antonio was wonderful allowing us to set the pace. His goal is to have you exhausted and happy at the end of the day, and we were both. You won't be disappointed if you book with Antonio.
