This was an incredible experience and was a great way to learn about giraffe in a natural habitat. The guide did great job explaining about both the centre and the giraffe. I would highly recommend this if you get the chance.

When we arrived in Arusha. We had a some time to do something. So we visited Arusha Giiraffe Centre. A local initiative to preserve land, nature, giraffes and at the humans by restoring back a sustainable environment. The first part of the tour is spent learning about the land, the impact of humans, importance of agriculture and the endangered Maasai giraffes. Then you explore the grounds where also the giraffes are from a close by distance. We took the opportunity to also have a nice local lunch within this great setting. Understanding that the fee including lunch is there to support this initiative. That by leading by example it can be an inspiration for others. We sincerely enjoyed the experience. Something recommended if you are interested and have a moment in Arusha.

It is a 45-60 minute drive from Arusha. Then depending on exactly where the 4 giraffes are, it is 1-2 kilometers walk. Then you get to stand as close as 3 meters to the giraffes. Take all the pictures you want.
