On this customizable private tour "In the footsteps of WW2" we dive into history. This is a great addition to tours on Jewish history in Amsterdam and the Anne Frank House. From the famous battle grounds to the horrors of the Nazi occupation.
We visit a concentration camp, with its barracks, memorials and crematorium. Corrie Ten Boom was imprisoned here during the war. Many Jewish children were sent to Poland from here and hundreds of resistance members were executed.
We will also visit the sites of Operation Market Garden and the battle of Arnhem The exhibition at the Airborne Museum in Arnhem, the war cemetery and the John Frost Bridge are a must see on this tour.

What To Expect
Nationaal Monument Kamp Vught
We visit the former Nazi concentration camp Vught in the South of Holland. The camp was first used in 1942 and held 31,000 Jewish and political prisoners. We will visit the remainders of the concentration camp with its watchtowers, barracks, crematorium, original train and children's memorial. We also visit the execution site in the woods where over 300 resistance members were executed. The camp has a book shop, a good audio tour and a small cafeteria.
The John Frost Bridge - John Frostbrug
The John Frost Bridge over the Rhine at Arnhem was the last bridge that needed to be captured during Operation Market Garden. If the Allies could capture this bridge the road to Germany would lay open. The bridge plays an important role in the movie A Bridge Too Far.

5.00This tour met and exceeded every expectation we could have ever had with my 21-year-old son and I. I highly recommend this tour and our guide Ava for families of all ages. I personally have had family members from both Canada and the U.S. serve in the military and have lost great-uncles in WWII. In addition, I have personally escorted 7 WWII Veterans on a 1-day trip to the WWII Memorial in Washington, D.C. and heard each of their stories of their service. Truly, our Greatest Generation. Although sombre and quite sobering, this is an important part of our history and should be remembered. Ava's personal story and her family journey is the icing on the cake of this perfect day. I would recommend this tour 100%.

5.00I was on Facebook last year looking on ways to get to Groesbeek War Cemetery to visit my uncle’s grave from WW2. I was contacted by Eva , who suggested that Dutch Tours could do a private tour for me. This seemed perfect and was exactly what I was looking for. We did the tour on September 16, and it was perfect. From visiting my uncle’s grave to touring into Germany, where he was killed , continuing on past the concentration camp and lunch by the lake . Eva’s knowledge of WW2 combined with her family’s stories made for a very memorable day. I highly recommend Dutch Tours !

5.00This was an amazing experience. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, funny and answered all our questions. She went out of her way to make this excursion special. We had plenty of time at each stop and didn't feel rushed at all. She tied all the stops together with real history and stories along the way so the ride was enjoyable. We are a family of 5 ( Mom, Dad, Grandma, Niece and child) who traveled with our 9 month old. She had a car seat for him which made it all the more convenient and pleasant. She made it appealing for everyone in the different age groups. I would definitely suggest doing this tour for anyone who wants a VIP service. This company is very professional and competent. She arrived on time at our hotel and was with us the entire day. She gave us space to spend time together as a family as we explored these sites and not crowd or stand over us, then when we needed her she was right there. She was even able to point out places where my husband's family was from and made it personal to take pictures for us to have as memories forever. We will definitely use this company again when traveling to Holland.
