Lempuyang Temple
The entire landscape looks very picturesque from this temple gate, and that gate also known to the western world as "The Gates of Heaven". The gates and its temple located in eastern part of the of Bali within the highlands of Mount Lempuyang, which sitting at a cool 1,775m above sea level. The whole complex complex that is made up of seven different sanctuaries, this temple offers visitors one of the most breathtaking views from any of the temples in Bali. Lempuyang Temple also known as Pura Penataran Agung Lempuyang is one of Sad Kahyangan Jagad or six main temples which are believed as the pillars of Bali. Lempuyang Temple is a sacred temple which is located on the top of Belibis Hill, northeast of Mount Agung, in Karangasem regency. Lempuyang is one of the six major Temple in Bali besides Andakasa Temple, Uluwatu Temple, Watukaru Temple, Ulun Danu Batur Temple and Besakih Temple. In Balinese cosmogony, Lempuyang Luhur is considered temple of the East, the abode of god Iswara, keeper of the peace. The meaning of the word “lempuyang” which serves as the name of this sacred temple has long been a subject of dispute. Some said the word “lempuyang” is derive take from the word “lampu” (light) and “hyang” (God), the word “lempuyang” means the “Light of God”. Some say the word “lempuyang” means a kitchen seasoning that can be used for some traditional medicine. And other said that the word “lempuyang” is derived from the word “emong or empu” that means “guardian”. Compare to other six major temple of Bali, Lempuyang Luhur is quite small and has only few shrines which are a padmasana or the shrine of God, two shrines which are similar to padmasana and share single foundation, dedicated to Hyang Gnijaya
Tirta Gangga
Tirta Gangga literally means water from the Ganges and it is a site of some reverence for the Hindu Balinese. Strictly, the name refers to the water palace built in 1948 by the Raja of Karangasem, Anak Agung Agung Anglurah Ketut Karangasem. It is, however, the name widely used to refer to the general area which includes the water palace and the lush rural areas around. Tirta Gangga water palace is a maze of pools and fountains surrounded by a lush garden and stone carvings and statues. The one hectare complex was built in 1946 by the late King of Karangsem but was destroyed almost entirely by the eruption of nearby Mount Agung in 1963. It has been lovingly re-built and restored and has an air of authentic royal magnificence.

All itineraries were provided on time, with very pleasent atmosphere, they also ad hoc adjusted itineraries to our ad hoc needs to visit sth more or to go to specific restaurant. Nice car with air condition and water. We additionally needed some hotel transfers as we were visiting few areas in Bali and also Flores. All transfers were provided on time and with ultraprofessional quality. I fully recommend team for anyone staying in Bali. Best Service, very pleasant and supportive team. He was perfectly on time and always helped us with our big luggage (in general he was soooooo Kind to us). The tour was amazing he told us a lot about the areas we drove through, which was amazing to know all the insides of the areas. Also if we had any questions he always knew an answer. The tour itself was amazing, didn’t even wait an hour at Lempuyangan (he’s a good photographer as well). At Tirta Gangga he showed us around and told us the history of it. At the end we had a Stopp at Virgin Beach, which is just beautiful. All was easy to arrange and absolutely perfect.

Wayan our personal driver has been amazing from start to finish of the tour. He was always very patient and able to accommodate our requests/needs. He has excellent English and is the most humble person you'll ever meet, such an amazing soul. He made us feel very comfortable and welcome from the moment we met him, he knew his way around Ubud very well and was always smiling/laughing. We highly recommend Wayan if you're looking to explore parts of Bali as we will most certainly recommend him to our friends and family who are heading to Bali in the future. Do not hesitate to reach out to Wayan for your next visit to Bali as you will not be disappointed with the high quality service.

I booked Wayan as my private driver after my coworker had traveled with him a few years back. Wayan was super accommodating with my customized requests. Not only is he a pretty good driver, but he even offers some Balinese history and cultural lessons along the drive. I had asked him if he could take me to Lempuyang temple before sunrise, so he actually came and picked me up from my hotel in Ubud at 4 AM! He asked me if I wanted to stop by the market before heading out to grab some breakfast. Super sweet of him. Once we arrived in Lempuyang, he recommended that I hire a local guide to take me to the top of the mountain since it’s a hike through the jungle with some pretty aggressive monkeys. The local guide was really nice and let me take breaks whenever I wanted along the hike. He spoke English as well. After Lempuyang, Wayan drove me to Tirta Gangga. He offered to take some pictures of me, very patiently as I wanted to take the perfect Insta photos. 😂😉 If you ever need a private driver around Bali, definitely hire Wayan! He goes above and beyond for you.
