Off the beaten track and very informative at the same time. Jan is very friendly and his English is accessible to a beginner in the language. Very satisfied with this visit.

Visiting the hospital and cemetery was a wonderful experience, different from the usual tourist routes. Allen, our guide, was very kind and professional, three hours passed quickly.

I had an incredible experience on this tour. Jan is not just a guide — he’s a storyteller who truly immerses you into the history and atmosphere of the place. The way he explained the history of the psychiatric hospital, the treatment methods, and the lives of people there was deep, thoughtful, and genuinely engaging. He created such a unique, almost mystical atmosphere that stayed with me long after the tour ended. It wasn’t just informative — it was emotional and thought-provoking. I found myself reflecting on life, its meaning, and how different realities can be.. This experience really touched me, and I highly recommend Jan and his tour to anyone looking for something deeper than a typical excursion . It’s something you’ll carry with you for a long time. Thank you!!!!

Ian was very good guide tour. He knew a lot about the place. We visited the area of the Psychiatric Hospital. He told us a lot of things about the hospital itself and about some of the patients that were here at the time and as well as a lot of patients that were staying there back in time. Overall it was an interesting tour and something not very common to visit. Be prepared though the tour lasted 3 hours approximately with a lot of walking around the area. We also visited a creepy abandoned cemetery but it was nice and calming same time.

Me and my friend (UK) went on the guided tour with Allen and it was FANTASTIC from start to finish. The tour was our favourite thing we did on the trip and we were very sad when it came to an end. We cannot stress how engaging, knowledgeable and fun Allen was and we most definitely learnt a lot about the rich history of the institute. Thank you so very much for this incredible experience!

Anya and myself (chelsea) had Allen today as our tour guide. Allen was sooooo much fun! He was very informative and made the tour really fun & exciting. We all had a really good laugh throughout as well as still being serious when informing us of the different eras and buildings. Allen also had a shadower alongside called Yan (im not sure of spelling so i apologise!) Awwww thank you so much we had a lovely time.

  • A cold and ice january tour!

Took the tour on a freezing cold January afternoon. Our tour guide was Allen who was great, and was able to articulate the information perfectly well. The tour took 3 hours. There were parts of the tour that perhaps could have been sped up, but I say this because of the weather only… I’m sure if it was just a few degrees warmer I wouldn’t say this. The abonded cemetery had some construction works going on and was extremely icy underfoot so couldn’t explore properly, but I appreciate once the construction works are complete and the ice has melted this will be much better. The buildings particularly are fascinating and I loved how eerie everything was in the fog, snow and ice.
