Meet your tour guide in your Xiamen downtown hotel at your chosen departure time and aboard a comfortable private vehicle to Quanzhou (about 90 minutes). As the largest Buddhist temple in Fujian, Kaiyuan Temple has attracted many domestic and foreign travelers who are interested in Buddhist culture. Once arrive, you will firstly follow your guide to explore this fairly complete se t of courtyard galleries. Major buildings in Kaiyuan Temple include Tianwang Hall, Daxiong Palace, the Sweet Dew Temple, the Sutra Depository, and Gongde Tang. Two long corridors and two stone towers date from the Song Dynasty (960-1279). In addition, many cultural relics are kept in the temple. Kaiyuan Temple is a must for visitors to learn the local culture. After exploring the entire complex, you will surely appreciate the Buddhist culture exemplified by the Kaiyuan Temple. Next enjoy a delightful local lunch with the recommendation from your guide. Continue to visit the Qingjing Mosque, also named Ashab Mosque, it was initially built in 1009 and today is the oldest Arab-style mosque in China. Later take a stroll around the nearby Guandi Temple dedicated to Guan Yu. The temple is more than 1000 years old. Besides praying for your loved ones, you can also go there to learn about Guandi and history of the temple. Then head to Fuwen Temple built in Tang Dynasty as a memorial temple of Confucius, the greatest ideologist and the founder of Confucianism, who was and is acknowledged as the greatest sage in China. The main body is Dacheng Hall, which is used to worship Confucius. The architectural structure of the hall is unique in Quanzhou. The entire hall is supported by 48 white stone pillars. Afterwards, the driver will transfer you back to Xiamen and drop off at your hotel.

We had a wonderful and relaxing tour of Quanzhou with Amy as she is highly expert in Quanzhou’s long and deep history and culture and provided great insights into the sites we visited including the temples and mosque. We especially appreciated Amy’s expertise, flexibility and welcoming demeanor. With Amy’s guidance we we able to visit the particular spots we were most interested in including the Maritime Museum. Thank you as well to the capable driver. All in all, our day out touring Quanzhou with Amy left us with a wonderful impression. We highly recommend Amy for her expertise, warm demeanor, attention to detail and ability to tailor the tour to our specific interests.
