  We came to Futaleufú specifically for rafting and it did not disappoint! Daniel, the owner of Bochinche went above and beyond making sure we were safe and had an amazing experience. We loved it so much that we went two days in a row. The rapids are big and the guides are skilled. After rafting they provided snacks and warm tea which was a good touch.   We opted to take a full day tour here in Futaleufu even though I had little rafting experience and my friend had none. We were a little nervous as a result, but it seems like Bochinche has a great safety crew. Our river guide was American, eliminating any sort of language barrier, and we managed to keep our raft from flipping the whole trip. I have diabetes and they were quite good about making sure I had chances to check my blood sugar to make sure it wasn't getting too low. The class v rapids weren't quite as intense as I expected, but it is still quite a ride. The river is absolutely beautiful and one of the best backdrops for any rafting experience. I do want to explain a bit more about the booking/rafting experience for those looking to book on this river. The amount of on river time when compared to the full experience is pretty small. For the full day, you will be hitting rapids for under 3 hours and on the river for not much longer. The bridge to bridge is probably only an hour or so of time in the rapids. We ended up switching to the full day when we learned this. Another thing to note is that the rafting companies may move your times around depending on how they are booked for the day. Initially we looked at bridge to bridge, but this would've meant we were just sitting on the bus for hours while everyone else rafted - only getting into the river when the other rafters reached that point. That seemed like a waste of my time to follow others down in a bus, so we switched to full river. Some companies may do just bridge to bridge if that is all they have booked, but there is no way to know in advance. This isn't necessarily a criticism, but needs to be factored in when you are picking a tour. Overall, this is a great company and we recommend the full day tour to anyone venturing out to the beautiful extreme sports town of Futaleufu. Even if you aren't one of those extreme sports nuts, you'll do fine. Enjoy!

  Took the Full Day Rafting Tour. An amazing experience! The guides are super experienced, very thorough with security and explain everything step by step as you go down the river. Super fun people and good vibes. 10/10 would recommend.

  If you are planning on doing any activities in Futaleufu go with Bochinche, I can guarantee that it will make your entire visit to Futaleufu better! We did rafting and fishing with them and both were fantastic experiences. Giorgia helped us figure out what activities to do to maximize our time in Futaleufu and beyond the rafting and fishing she gave us wonderful tips on where to eat, where to stay, and travel logistics- she is simply the best! I am not exaggerating when I say we looked into changing our flights back to the US just to have a couple more days to do additional activities with Bochinche, they are fantastic! Rafting- due to water conditions we did the Rio Azul and a portion of the Futaleufu. The Rio Azul canyon is so beautiful and the rafting is super fun and exciting, the Futaleufu is like nothing I have ever experienced- the energy and power of the river is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and it is wildly beautiful. I was a little (maybe a lot) nervous before we went, but our guides Nico and Daniel were fantastic, super capable, extremely knowledgeable, and great at what they do. They are very professional and very focused on safety, but still, ensure that it is a ton of fun and you have a great time. As others have mentioned the gear is top-notch, and there are multiple safety boats with every trip, and most importantly the people are the best. It is an amazing experience top to bottom. Afterward, they host a little picnic which is a ton of fun and lets you enjoy the post-adrenaline rush! On the way back to town you have the option to buy photos, don't sleep on these- Jasmine is a super talented photographer and really captures the energy and excitement of the rafting but also takes lovely photos of people. The photos are a very reasonable extra charge that is worth every penny. The next day we went fly fishing on a calmer part of the river with Fly Jorge, it was so beautiful and my husband caught a ton of fish- it was a great day and Bochinche organized it so that everything was easy and smooth. Finally, they sell really pretty jewelry made by a local artist in the office, I got two pairs of fantastic silver earrings that I've worn almost every day since and always get compliments on them. Everyone at Bochinche is fantastic, it was a true pleasure to spend time with all of them and I am confident that you will have an amazing experience with them as they are excellent at what they do and go above and beyond for their guests.
