Had a fabulous day with a local company just down the road from Ranthambore NP. Booked last minute and cost us 18000 INR. Definitely worth doing.

We had a wonderful safari at Rantanbore. We did one morning and one evening safari, both booked by this company. They were very good at advising us which zones to book in. We initially wanted jeep safaris but there wasn't availability for jeeps in the zones that the company recommended. Ranthanbore is divided into (I think) 10 zones and your transport can only move around within the zone you have booked. The company recommended that we were batter to go in the bigger (cantor) vehicle in the better zones than to go in the smaller and usually more desirable and more expensive jeep transport in a less good zone and they were absolutely correct! We were blessed to see 4 tigers in zone 3 on our morning safari and 3 tigers in zone 4 on our afternoon safari. It was fabulous! The best zones seem to be zones 1-5 The days we were there several people didn't see tigers in the higher numbered zones. Having said that you are by no means guaranteed to see tigers in any zone. We spoke to someone who had done 4 safaris over the 2 days before we arrived in zones 3 and 4 and didn't see tigers at all. The park is however beautiful and there is lots of other wildlife to see so even a safari without tigers would not be wasted money or time, but seeing them is a spectacular experience! The tigers definitely seem to be more active in the morning so if you have to choose one or the other I would recommend morning. They tend to be more sleepy in the afternoon.

We got a gypsy by ourselves and the ride is definitely more comfortable than a canter. We were not able to see tigers or bears for our trip at zone 6 but the guide still showed us many other animals.

Good experience in a Canter in zone 3. Saw a female tiger with 3 cubs but it felt a bit like a safari park as the tigers were so used to humans and noisy ones at that. We also saw monkeys, deer, peacocks, kingfisher and crocodiles.

This safari tour was incredible and would recommend to all traveling to Ranthambore with hopes to see Tigers. We traveled at the end of. January and I was worried about the likelihood given the season, but we saw the male Tiger in Zone 1 in the morning and the female Tiger in Zone 3 in the afternoon under a shared tour. All advice was spot on. Ending with saying we enjoyed and saw plenty of wildlife and the park is really beautiful, which we got to appreciate thanks to going to different zones each time. Thank you Vardi again for arranging everything, it was faultless.

We had an awesome private safari drive! We saw a mother tiger (see our photo!) with her three cubs and were able to watch them for over 90 minutes. Wow! We were pleased to have an English-speaking guide as well as a driver. And the company rep was terrific — confirming repeatedly in the weeks prior and texting several times on the day of the drive to let us know the pick-up time and driver name/number and to confirm we were picked up as planned. It was incredibly professional and could not have been better! We were delighted!

Unfortunately our tour guide didn’t speak/explain much, which was a little disappointing. However, the park does all the talking. Absolutely spectacular!

The National park is divided into 10 zones. Once you have paid you will be contacted and told what zone you will be going to. You have 2 options when booking a shared safari on a Canter (like a large open top bus holds about 20 people) or a Gypsy (open top Jeep) Once we had booked we were contacted by a very help and nice guy via WhatsApp to discuss what zones and what times we wanted. . He gave really good advise saying see Tiger sightings are rare so the more you do the higher chance you have of seeing a them. He also advised doing them via a Canter and what Zones are the best. All the good zones with a Gypsy were fully booked (we booked in November to go in February) so only Canters were available in the better zones. As we were staying for 3 nights we booked 3 safaris 2 one day by a Canter in zones 3 & 4 and 1 the next day as a private Jeep in zone 8. The first morning safari on a Canter was really good got to see 5 Sloth bears various size dear, monkeys, crocodiles and numerous birds. The second afternoon safari on a Canter was excellent we got to see a Tiger which walked within 4 feet of us it was truly amazing and very exciting. The next day we did the private safari in the afternoon. It was a disaster nothing like the 2 the day before. Zone 7,8 & 9 are up a mountain we traveled for 40 minutes and the only animals we saw was a farmer with his goats and his camel. When we did see any wildlife it was few and far between, nothing like the day before. The guide was rude and hardly spoke a word 20 to 30 words maximum. We sat at the park gate waiting for it to open for 40 minutes with no interaction from the guide. The driver kept stopping saying he was listening for warning sounds and then sat on his phone. Every other Gypsy we saw the tourists like us looked bored and let down. The guide the day before told us Tiger sightings happen about once or twice a week and the Sloth bear sightings happen once a month so we got very lucky the day before. It is potluck on what guide you get as you don’t get a choice. Ramsingh the guide from the first afternoon was excellent and worked really hard and was so informative. The one we had which we don’t know his name as he never introduced himself was completely hopeless. My advise to anybody booking is make sure you get the lower zones where the large watering holes are because obviously all animals are attracted to water. Save money and go by a Canter you get the same experience. As mentioned before it’s potluck what guide you will get as they all do both Csnter and Gypsy. DO NOT BOOK ZONES 7,8 or 9 you will be wasting your money, book early to ensure you get the better choice of zones.
