This photo tour combination includes a private Astrophotography tour and to be part of The Rapa Nui Stargazing Experience (shared - max 10 people).
For avid photographers and enthusiasts, our photography tours aim to get the best light at the best times. Astrophotography is one option, but we also run day photo tours (beginning before sunrise and running through to mid morning, or beginning in the afternoon and running through to sunset).
You will be with a knowledgeable guide who will also be able to tell you about the history of the island, although more focus is on the photography.
We can do both places (Anakena & Ahu Tongariki) for Stars to Sunrise tours and more places on Day Photo tours.
IMPORTANT: Photography tours are intended for personal, non-commercial use only, and photos cannot be used for profit.

Ahu Nau Nau
We will meet in town and our first stop is near Anakena beach. Here we will have a talk on Polynesian navigation techniques and general layout of the night ski, as well as telescope observation and a coffee break. Then we will go to Anakena for photos. Your photo will be sent in about 5 days, via email (internet is slow on the island). The duration of the tour is 3 hours approximately including transportation back to your lodging.
Ahu Tongariki
This is the largest moai platform in Rapa Nui. Great for photos at Sunrise or at night. Aditionally, we could go to Ahu Anakena instead of Tongariki. National Park ticket is not included (80usd per person). You will need to buy your ticket online before the tour.

It was just beautiful and a very special experience to be there at night, my main focus was to take pictures there and there you have to say that luck also plays a big role because the weather on the island is very moody and adventurous so you can not promise to see a beautiful starry sky there yet try to make it possible with all your might, here a longer stay is advantageous to postpone by days. Also our guide Marc from New Zealand did a great job to make these 2 nights so beautiful and informative. Thanks again for that reminder.

Marc and his partner did an outstanding job of explaining Polynesia astral navigation and helped us to locate starts, constellations and planets in their telescope. Although there was a nearly full moon, they timed the visit to Anakena Beach to occur before the moon rose. Along the way, they entertained us with singing and acoustic guitar playing. The photo they took of us on the Beach with the Moai and countless stars behind was an instant classic!
