What To Expect

Immerse yourself in the captivating world of reindeer herding, enjoy a brief reindeer sleigh ride, and delve into the deeply-rooted practices of this ancient profession in Finnish Lapland. Your experience begins with a meeting with your guide at the set meeting points, where you'll be warmly dressed up before the take off to meet the reindeers. When everyone is ready, your journey to meet the reindeers at Reindeer Manor, 20-minutes drive away from the center of Rovaniemi begins. You can meet the friendly reindeer and enjoy a brief 500m long reindeer sledge ride. Local reindeer herders will be present to share their insights and address any queries you may have about the distinctive lifestyle and customs of the region’s reindeer herders. Gain a deeper understanding of how herders manage their reindeer and collaborate as a family to preserve their way of life. To add warmth, hot juice and biscuits will be served in the hut. After the visit, you will be transported back to the meeting point.

Arrived on time but waited 45 minutes for the transport to bring us to the reindeer farm. Once we reached the farm, the sled ride was interesting and fun for sure, and we did get to pet the reindeer’s as well as feed them. Afterwards, we were brought into a traditional hut and were given warm drinks which were appreciated, however the actual portion where we were told fun facts and information about the reindeers lasted for at most 10 minutes. Once done, we waited nearly half an hour for transport back to the city. All in all, we had lots of idle and waiting time whilst the actual tour lasted for at most 45 minutes. Not sure if this is the same for other reindeer tours but the ones I experienced in Tromso were much better.

Great experience, two brilliant guides, would definitely recommend. People at Reindeer Manor also great, loads of knowledge and wonderful place.

Liked the flexibility of 2 pick up locations. The staff was kind & knowledgeable & respectful of the animals. I appreciated the learning portion at end about the reindeer and hearing more specifically about that farm/manor.

We just love it! Sled ride was cozy and nice. After it, we feed some reindeer and take photos with them. Then we get some cookies and warm drink and listen storys about reindeers.

Was just ok. Most of the time you will spend waiting. At the waiting point, on the bus, to get on the bus, for the reindeer sledge. Actual activity is roughly 5-10 min sledge ride in a circle and a quick feeding session of the Reindeer. Nice presentation about reindeer themselves after the ride with a hot drink. All in all, might be good for kids if they are patient but not a large amount of actual content for this. Maybe husky excursion has more to it.
Very touristy, not worth the effort or money.

The tour was expected to start at 2 at the farm, but it was delayed by over an hour. The farm was running behind due to previous tours running late. The good part though was the team was able to accommodate our group in the huts while we waited our turn to see the reindeers. The ride itself was barely 15 mins long. Overall, it was a very underwhelming and disappointing experience.

There are feeding of reindeer. Up close experience. The ride was good. Slow and enjoyable The guides are very nice and patient. However, it might be good to be able to house different tour group in a warm place while waiting for their turn. Advice to prepare your own beverage and snacks in case there is a queue. Then refreshment during the briefing might be a little too late.

The guides were great. The company itself exceeded expectations - I would book a tour with them again so long as Arturo and the Italian woman were the guides. Really enjoyed going to the farm and seeing the reindeer as well as the talk afterwards about them. Very informative.
