Our international airport is situated on Reyknanes peninsula.
yet most our visitors drive straight to the city without experiencing the magic of this youngest part of our country and this is the place where we can basically walk over the bridge between two continents, from North America to Europe. The crack that goes through the Island starts right here. It is ideal to visit the Blue Lagoon on this route.
We will visit Gunnuhver, Brimketill as well as Reykjanesviti lighthouse where the Atlantic ridge rises above sea-level. It is ideal to stop at the small village named Grindavík where people have depended on fishing for centuries.
On our way back we can drive through Hafnarfjörður which is known for being the town of the hidden people. During the summer a Viking festival takes over this little town where people gather from the Nordic country’s all dressed up as Vikings.

Bridge Between Continents
Here you can actually walk between two continents where the Eurasian plate and the North American plate are drifting apart. The bridge is a symbol of the connection between Europe and North America.
Blue Lagoon
the Blue Lagoon is located in about 800 years old lava field in the heart of the Reykjanes Peninsula. You must book your ticket yourself since it is very popular. It is wonderful to relax in the lagoon despite of the weather.

Inga was a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. She made sure we were comfortable in every way, and taught us a lot about the area.

This was the best tour of my three in Iceland. I was picked up promptly in a smart brand new electric van. The guide was incredibly charming and knowledgeable and we accomplished so much in the time (a bit longer than scheduled, but really worth it) stopping at additional places not on the itinerary. As a private tour it is very flexible and it was nice that this enabled us to hike more than one can do on a group trip and get to see more things and get better vantage points. The Reykjanes Peninsula is incredibly interesting - you get to see so much, and so much more in a shorter time than say the Golden Circle. We hiked to the end of the lava flow from last September, various cliff/bird locations, hot springs, lakes, local villages, bridge between the continents, Blue Lagoon etc. Would highly recommend and use again myself on a future visit.

Really superb tour. The best of my three tours; the guide was really excellent, charming and knowledgeable. We saw so much and he knew all the right spots to visit and we did so much in the time. The Reykjanes peninsula seems a bit underrated compared to other more obvious longer trips, but here you will see everything including close up to a recent lava field, springs, cliffs with incredible bird life, small geysers, waterfalls etc. Lots of stops, plenty of time. Highly recommended.
