I chose to go with Hajar Trekking Guides as I saw the positive reviews posted for them. They did not disappoint as we were promptly picked up from the Lombok airport and driven to Senaru Lodge which was a nice place to stay before the hike. We were shown a waterfall and did a cool hike going thru the water with our sandals. We met Hajar and he told us what routes we would go on and what would be the most challenging parts of them which was towards the summit and also the ascent to the 2nd crater, Senaru. Our guide was patient as I was slower going to the summit as it took me 4.5 hrs rather than the usual 3 hrs. He kept us on schedule with encouraging us to go at a certain speed and waiting for us if we were not directly behind him. We had wonderful meals prepared and the team made an effort giving us food in our tent with the pouring rain and carrying our tents and sleeping bag. The hike was beautiful going to the Sembalun Crater Rim and camping there, going to the summit, and then going down to the lake, and to camp at the Senaru Crater and then descend. There was a mix of rainforest, jungle and seeing stray dogs, and monkeys. When we got back, Hajar drove us 4 hrs thru the traffic back to the hotel that we booked and even carried our luggage to the reception as we were exhausted, It was a very positive experience learning about the culture and how the guide started doing these things as his father was a porter. It was amazing to see the porters carry so much and navigate efficiently with sandals. I am very glad that I went with Hajar Trekking as they had prepared us well and there were no unexpected surprises.

We did the 3 days / 2 nights trip and it was an unforgettable experience! The views were breathtaking, especially the sunset, which was simply magical. Our guide, Hanafi, was absolutely amazing. He, along with the porters, took care of everything and made sure we were comfortable throughout the trek. The food they prepared was delicious and far exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend Team Backpacker to anyone considering this adventure, and if we ever come back, we would definitely choose them again!

We did the 3D2N package. Had excellent guides Benny and Andi and our porters who cooked our meals, set up our tents. We stayed at a hotel in senaru village on the first night before we took a pickup truck to the trail head at sembalun village to start the hike the next morning. After the summit, we descended to the crater lake where our guides let us stay the night to enjoy the scenery and the hot spring. We also rented a fishing rod to catch some fishes. We then started our final descent to torean village on the last day. The overall experience was great and the trip was not possible without them.

Best Experience Ever! We were a small group of five girls, and our guide, Eko, was absolutely amazing — professional, patient, and very caring. He helped us a great deal and made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. This is definitely the place to be if you’re looking for a fun and rewarding challenge!

The view was fantastic and the trekking is challenging. However, the trip down from the submit to the late and to the hot spring were not prepared well by the tour guide. You may need to carefully select the tour group and look at the review. Trip Adviser squeeze me into a 12-pax group, where it should only be 6-9 pax. I have to pay for extra tips to hire a porter in order to have bottled water on the 2nd and 3rd day, if not, I will have to drink spring water which is without purification.

My 14 year old son and 53 year old me just had an amazing time with these guys taking on the challenge of the summit and lake 3D2N Rinjani challenge. It was a very tough 3 days but made all the much better by the incredible support and care given by the tour guide pro Danny, the super endearing and ever smiling Bahn and the low fuss operator, Sup!! Despite the gruelling nature of the journey, these guys were at all times going the extra mile to make our experience the absolute highlight that it was. Just a few examples: freshly cut fruit at every stop, hot Pop corn delivered to our tent, 5 star tents, sleeping bags and mats beautifully made up for our arrival into camp and constant vigilance to make sure the ‘old bloke’ didn’t fall off the side of any cliffs! I could not talk highly enough about just what time we had and will never forget these super humans. Thank you so much Danny, Bahn, Sup and also the hilarious and lovely Amen at the hotel booked for us before we started our 3 days!! Just do it - you will love it!

The 3D2N tour was a really cool experience. I would recommend to be in a good condition for the tour, because it's physically challenging, especially in high attitudes. After the summit you should probably try to walk down to the hot springs and the take the route to the Torean village, this one is also nice, because you have more private camping place and not staying together with all others. Our guide was really motivated, sometimes the breaks could’ve been a little longer to enjoy the landscapes and regain energies. One last recommendation would be to definitely briong good trekking shoes, a bag, headlight, and some warm clothes.

What an amazing experience and such an amazing team! Our guide Doni was so lovely. He was knowledgeable, kind and caring, always making sure we're doing well and enjoying the (incredible) views during the hikes and that we're most comfortable and happy during breaks. The porters, Sam, Yuly and Runadi were absolutely amazing, working so hard to carry everything for setting up camp and cooking amazing food that fueled us super well the whole trip, cannot appreciate them more! An unforgettable trip!

We were lucky enough to walk up the Rinjani with the incredible team. One special word must go out to our guide Uci and the porters Bayu and Jitrana who were always so caring. When I booked the tour, I asked for vegetarian food and I was so surprised by the variety of yummy meals we were served, prepared with simple camping gear! Uci is a mountain lover who will always keep smiling despite the rain or waking up in the middle of the night. He'll keep you motivated all the way to the Rinjani summit, a mountain that he's been treading for over 25 years. In short, without Uci, Bayu and Jitrana, this experience would never have been the same. A great big thank you to you three for making this happen!
