Our family had an incredible and unforgettable day rafting the Rio Verde. Jonathan and Chris were the best guides. They were extremely professional and knowledgeable and their instructions were very clear. Because of that, and our trust in them, we were confident jumping off the cliffs (after much hesitation), swimming up into the waterfalls, etc. The four of us have different comfort levels with risk and they did a great job allowing the adventurous teens to be risky while making the dad who can't swim feel confident and comfortable. We were the only boat on the river the entire day, so the place felt very magical, natural and untouched (except for the gold miners here and there). Throughout the day there were many opportunities to raft, float, swim, climb, etc. Lunch wrapped in banana leaves on the river beach was a highlight. The trip from planning with the office to pickup, travel, meals and everything in between was perfect. I would definitely take a longer trip with these knowledegable and trustworthy guides. They are doing great work to highlight and preserve these beautiful rivers. Our family of4 has very different opinions but we all agreed that this was the highlight of our trip to Colombia. Thank you to Jonathan and Chris!

Rio Verde & Rio Samana are very beautiful. Rafting was so fun and jungle life as well. The two tour guides are very kind and professional. Highly recommend this tour!

A fantastic way to discover the indescribable beauty of this part of the world. Day 1 was a leisurely drift along to our campsite where the team had already set up our hammocks under a tarp and were busy preparing dinner while we enjoyed a glass of wine by the river. We spent mos5 of day 2 on the river. The rapids were great fun, with plenty of opportunities to swim in between. We felt safe at all times and well looked after by the expert guides. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you Jonathan, Juan Pablo, Jan and Didier [?] and everyone at Expedition Colombia.

This was by far the best thing we did in Medellin! It includes a 1.5h trek through the Rainforest (downhill, trekking good shoes are recommended), and then jumping into the Raft with the amazing Jonathan who led the group through 3 hours of a mibdblowing experience. We went over several Rapids (more than a dozen) with varying difficulty. We did two stops, one to have a nice lunch wrapped in Banana leaves, and another in a huge waterfall where we refreshed. The landscape all through the journey is breathtaking, relaxing and beautiful. The whole experience was made better by the great attitude and energy of our guides. Definitely recommended! No need to have a super phisical aptitude, but it is at times a bit demanding. Don't be scared and go for it!

We booked a 1 week trip with our children (10-10-12-14 yrs). We combined several short trips to a 7 night stay. We were picked up from Medellin airport and were taken to a nice holiday house in San Francisco. The kids loved the place and the swimming pool. day 3-5 we did a part of the Camino verde hike. This was very nice with a lot of swimming sessions in the river. The kids were too young for the full trekking as the 3rd day would have been 18 km with 2000 m of climbing. Looking back it could have been a good option to do a part of the 3rd day with mules instead of walking back the same way. Day 5 we were taken back to San Francisco. Day 6 we did a morning mile ride through the surroundings. This was really nice, especially riding through the town with music playing everywhere. It felt like we were in a western movie. Being the only tourist in a Colombian mountain town. Riding on miles or horses is usually a tourist thing but here all the locals were riding mules too. Day 6-7 we went rafting. This was excellent. Beautiful and professional. Camping overnight in the middle of nowhere. Afterwards we were taken back to our house in San Francisco. The next morning we got picked up and were taken to Medellin airport. All in all it was a very well organized trip, nice people. Highly recommended. Diana, Jonathan and Mael thanks a lot for your great guidance! Diana I hope the ‘all birds of colombia’ app worked out. Jules: you are doing great work in saving this beautiful river from being dammed by investors and the forest from being burnt by farmers.

Mael and Johnathon provided us with an experience of a lifetime - we slept in a hammock and did lots of rafting, as promised, but also had the opportunity to cliff-jump, swim through rapids, swim under waterfalls and have our guides share their knowledge about the area (and demonstrate some excellent handyman and camp cooking skills). I was not sure what to expect, but going on this tour was a great decision.

Went on this trip last weekend, and I'm still smiling! Loved that in addition to rafting we also got to camp, explore a waterfall up close, swim, jump off cliffs, hike, and learn about the area from our guides. As long as you're prepared with bug spray, sunscreen, athletic shoes - and an adventurous spirit - you won't be disappointed!
