This tour is perfect if you like wine and want to learn about Rioja wines while tasting them (of course, you will taste many different wines).

We organize all the tour in a private way and without a fixed plan, so we love customizing this tour depending on your interests, showing you the area and taking you to the most interesting wineries in Rioja. We propose 2-3 of them, and it will be up to you which ones to visit; however we will depend on their visiting schedules to organize it. In fact, if you are very interested in visiting a specific winery, let us know and we will organize the tour to do it.

What To Expect

Barrio de la Estacion de Haro

Our first stop will be at the main Wine destination in Rioja, the origin of the Wine Revolution in Rioja at the end of the 19th century. Here I propose starting our day in a well known winery, doing an introductory tour (the only tour we will do in our whole day) Ticket included.

One of the best wine tours we’ve experienced. Javier who was our tour guide, was amazing, very engaging, listened to the type of bodegas we’d like to visit & planned the tour accordingly. Javier’s knowledge of Rioja & its wines was fantastic. He took us to 3 great bodegas, Luis Canas, Ysios & Tritium. They were all interesting with great stories behind their history. Our favourite was Tritium, a really niche boutique bodega with caves. Ara, our guide there, was fabulous & so enthusiastic about their wines, one of which was a wine in a clay pot aged in the sea! A truly memorable day for us all.

This absolutely was my biggest highlight of my two week trip! I would highly recommend Javier to anyone and everyone! He is absolutely amazing took us around all day to the best places all around the valley. He goes above and beyond to give the best experience possible. Javier was an excellent guide and fun to spend the day with. We were able to see the countryside and towns without renting a car, and we could enjoy the wine tasting without worry. We especially loved the leisurely lunch in Laguardia. The food was so fresh and delicious. Also, the small winery Tritium was a treat. We were able to go down into an old tunnel and learn how they are experimenting with ancient means of fermentation and aging.

I cannot rave about this tour enough. Javier was FANTASTIC from start to finish. He immediately jumped in as soon as we booked to begin the planning, and he was engaged and in communication the entire time, ensuring we had the perfect day set up! We spent all day with him, and it flew by. Between his incredible knowledge, easy going personality, and love of rioja wine, it was the best day ever. Plus, the wine and food were INCREDIBLE! We will be back!

Our guide Javier was fun, flexible and very knowledgeable. This was a private tour and he was completely accommodating to structure the day around our specific interests. We heartily recommend this tour was a perfect introduction to the wines, history, and geography of the Rioja region.

We had an amazing day. It was perfect - educational, fun, varied and completely what we (five women) wanted. Each location thoughtfully selected, each person we met was passionate and interesting and Javier himself was "just like one of us". Can not recommend this enough. Huge thank you from us all.
