Enjoy a day of wine tasting in Spain's famed Rioja region during this 9-hour guided tour and picnic from San Sebastian. Visit three wineries, tasting at least 3 different wines in each, before heading to a fourth winery to tour its underground wine caves and tunnels – the setting for a picnic-style lunch paired with a Crianza red wine from the winery. Spend the afternoon exploring the medieval village of Laguardia. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included.

5.00We were two couples who had booked a guided tour from San Sebastian to Rioja. This tour will be a memory for us for life. Absolutely fantastic with beautiful views, a very nice and knowledgeable guide. The vineyards we visited were amazingly beautiful, with staff doing everything to make us feel comfortable. The wines we tasted were of the highest quality. We are all from Sweden and it was very thoughtful of the organizer give us a guide with a close relationship to our country. Tusen tack Luis

5.00We had a fantastic day in Rioja visiting two wineries which we would not have been able to visit on our own, then having a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. Our guide Andy was really informative, friendly and knowledgeable. It felt like we were visiting Rioja with a friend The wineries were amazing - small producers who have such a passion for wine making. We have been to many wineries around the world but still learnt a lot of new things at these wineries

5.00We reached out at the suggestion of our hotel in San Sebastian, Maria Cristina, and were not disappointed! Basque tours worked with us on our itinerary and the wineries we visited and we were so happy! Both of the wineries we wanted to visit were on their radar and they made our day so seamless and spectacular. Our tour guide was amazing and took the best photos. The restaurant in Laguardia was OK but the town was super cute. Overall was a really great day we could not have planned on our own.

5.00We had a VERY large group (29 people) and very specific requirements (high end wine tasting, different settings, enough space, beautiful views, great lunch) and boy did Jon deliver! We were all impressed by his attention to detail, knowledge, selections and customer service. Everything was planned perfectly and all 29 people left happy, drunk and full. If you love Rioja, having fun and eating good food, you will love this tour!

5.00First we can’t express enough our appreciation for Basque Tours. Jon and Jani have been incredible partners. We were scheduled for two tours in May of last year and due to family circumstances we needed to cancel close to the deadline. Jon and Jani didn’t hesitate to reimburse our deposit right away. They immediately earned our trust. So when it came time for us reschedule our trip to San Sebastián we did not hesitate to contact Jon and Jani. They were immediately on top of things to get us booked and the tours did not disappoint. Angel was our guide for the Rioja wine tour. Picking us up from our hotel the ride to the wine country flew by as Angel helped us understand the history of the region as well as the different industry sectors that help drive the economy. We visited three wineries and had a great lunch in Laguardia! Angel’s tour of the city was perfect. We explored different parts of the castle and ended up seeing an impromptu group of students dancing and singing songs of their heritage. Just a fantastic experience! Eskerrik asko Angel!

5.00This was an excellent, excellent, tour with pickup at our hotel in San Sebastian, private tastings at 3 wineries in Haro and Laguardia, and a delicious lunch at a small restaurant. Our guide, Juan, spoke perfect English and knew the Rioja wine region inside and out. We've take a lot of wine tours all over the world, and this was as good or better than any of them. Just perfect. We give it (and Juan) the highest possible recomendation.

5.00We had a fabulous experience using Basque tours for our wine tour in the Rioja region. The communication with the team from day one was great, and they answered all my questions. The tour itself was the BEST. Our guide, Andy, picked us up at our hotel in San Sebastian and during the hour plus drive educated us about the Basque region and the wineries in Rioja. We learned a lot before we even arrived at our first stop. We visited two spectacular wineries that included tours and full tastings and stopped by a third for a quick tasting. The winery visits were followed by a delicious three course lunch and a stop in LaGuardia to explore the beautiful old city before heading back to our hotel. The day was absolutely perfect! We thoroughly enjoyed all our time with Andy and hope to see him when he comes to NYC.

5.00We organised our tour with limited available days we had in San Sebastián…. Jon, the contact for Basque tours was very prompt to reply and give us a quote for our day out in the Rioja wineries …. Our tour guide was prompt to pick us up and was knowledgeable about the area and was a lot of fun … the wineries picked for our tastings were superb , the staff friendly and very informative … the food for the picnic lunch was both tasty and plentiful… All wines we tasted for the day were perfect … such a beautiful landscape and scenery in the areas we visited …. Just the best day out we could have asked for…. Thankyou to Basque Tours for an amazing day .
