Sitting comfortably in a motor boat, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a fascinating tour around the village of Sierpe. You will find a landscape that is home to a wide variety of wildlife in its natural environment. From monkeys, crocodiles, to limpets, toucans, herons, snakes, sloths, etc.

Would you like to know the mangrove species? This tour also gives you the opportunity to observe and learn about the largest mangrove forest in Costa Rica.

Our highly trained guides will be responsible for providing you with detailed information about the flora and fauna you observe, ensuring that your experience is educational and enriching.

What To Expect

Sierpe

Sitting comfortably in a motor boat, you take a tour on the Sierpe River, near the town, but with the security of having an experience with the natural habitat of different animals such as: limpets, crocodiles, herons, toucans, monkeys, sloths , snakes, etc. We also show them the different species of mangrove that are on the river. Guides with high knowledge of the flora and fauna present in the area.

This was a brilliant tour. 3.5 hours drifting leisurely down the river punctuated every few minutes by wildlife. Lots of birds (including a beautiful pygmy kingfisher), crocs, lizards, monkeys. Even saw 3 crab-eating raccoons and a boa constrictor. Our guide Jonathan was clearly an expert and highly knowledgeable about the mangrove and all the flora/fauna it supports. One of the best things we did in Costa Rica.

What an amazing experience. We had the chance to have a passionate guide resulting in a passionating experience for the whole family. We saw birds, monkeys, snakes, crocodiles, plants... It was pure magic ! Highly recommended !

Really informative 3 hour boat trip along the river Sierpe, with lots of wildlife seen. Jonathan, our guide, was clearly knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Just note that you won’t see crocodiles if the tide is high.

We had a wonderful tour with Jonathan who showed us many birds, including the elusive common potoo, crocodiles,a boa constrictor, squirrel monkeys. His explanation of the importance of mangroves and how a mangrove forest is formed was fascinating. This tour was a highlight of our vacation.

Our guide, Moses, was excellent. Nina was very helpful organizing. We saw 3 different kinds of monkeys, crocodiles, caymans, river otter, turtle, etc, etc-they accommodated our time for a private tour-great value for the money-we strongly recommend taking this tour!!
