Soak in the atmosphere of one of Ireland's most breathtaking tourist destinations, iconic in its historical significance. This unique and atmospheric place is bound to create enduring memories. The Rock of Cashel boasts the most remarkable collection of medieval structures in Ireland. Among the historical treasures it houses, you'll find a round tower, an imposing high cross, a Romanesque chapel, a majestic Gothic cathedral, an ancient abbey, the distinguished Hall of the Vicars Choral, and a Tower House from the fifteenth century. Originally serving as the royal seat of the Munster kings, legend has it that even St. Patrick himself journeyed here to convert King Aenghus to Christianity. In 978, Brian Boru was crowned as the High King at Cashel, establishing it as his capital. There will be an opportunity to visit the impressive Cormac’s Chapel - one of the best examples of 12th century Romanesque architecture in Ireland with the only surviving Romanesque frescoes in Ireland.
Cahir Castle
Visit one of the largest and best preserved castles in Ireland, which has retained its impressive keep, tower and much of its original defensive structure from the 14th century. Rock of Cashel, Cahir Castle, Swiss Cottage Diana was a great guide. She had checked the weather so we rearranged the order we would see the sights. The Swiss Cottage was such a surprise (a hidden gem)! Cahir Castle was so interesting and picturesque! We loved all the history. Then we had a lovely lunch down the street from the castle. Next was the Rock of Cashel (our big site for the day!). So happy we saw this last as the rain was gone & we had beautiful weather. We were totally amazed & in awe of this historical site. This day was packed full of beauty & history! We enjoyed the full day. Diana was punctual, very informative, and prepared. Transportation in the vehicle was very comfortable. We would highly recommend this trip!!

My stunning day spent with Diana from Gateway to Ireland Tours was one of the highlights of my trip to the Emerald Isle. Diana is incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, friendly, and client-focused. She went above and beyond to create a fully personalized itinerary, perfectly tailored to my interests and pace. Diana’s passion for what she does shines through in every conversation and every scenic stop along the way. Her professionalism, warmth, and genuine care for her guests make her an exceptional guide and a true ambassador for Ireland. Travelling with Diana on the Golden Vale Tour: Dublin to Rock of Cashel, Cahir and Beyond, was a big ask and involved a long day on the road. Diana was incredibly attentive, upbeat, fun, an excellent conversationalist, and an incredibly safe driver. Our journey was incredible, extremely comfortable and rewarding. All that I planned and hoped to see was made possible thanks to Diana and her well-executed tour route and timekeeping. If you are visiting Dublin and want to enjoy a day spent further afield, I highly recommend getting in touch with Diana and her team at Gateway to Ireland Tours. I will never travel another way! Diana is a true gem—an unforgettable journey with what feels like a lifelong friend. Thank you for an incredible experience, Diana. I cannot wait to book my next tour!

My husband and I had wonderful day with Diana. The weather improved after a prompt and early pickup and the beauty of the Irish landscape offered lovely views. We managed everything on our customized itinerary and found our guide to be friendly, considerate and easy to talk to. In this way we travelled in comfort, saw the sights and gained insights from our knowledgeable driver. After good food and memorable stops for photos, and a ramble through Kilkenny, a tour through beautiful Swiss Cottage we made our way to our B&B on Cashel. We enjoyed our day, covered a lot of ground and consider Gateway To Ireland a stand out experience in our 20 days away. Thank you Diana. We will be recommending Gateway To Ireland to friends

Diana and her company Gateway to Ireland tours was fantastic! My wife and I found her to be very knowledgeable and patient with us as we went through the countryside asking her hundreds of questions that she knew all the answers to. She even provided a picnic for us and agreed to my wife stopping into an antique store to buy something in one of the towns that we visited. I would highly recommend her if you're considering a private tour of Ireland

Diana offered a fantastic experience to Cashel Rock, as well as private tour at the local village museum by the owner, and a castle tour. She is a wonderful host and knowledgeable. She is diligent and committed to providing a premiere tour experience starting with our pick up at our hotel. We will be back, and we will be booking with Diana in the future. We loved all the sites we visited, learned a lot, and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. Very well done and a highly valued experience. Many thanks!
