Appreciate art like a collector with a visit to the Borghese Gallery and Gardens. Carefully controlled entry means that unlike the nearby Vatican Museums, this collection of masterpieces is never crowded. The gallery includes pieces by Raphael and Bernini, and the tour includes the Borghese Gardens: a peaceful oasis amid the chaos of the capital.

Galleria Borghese
Cardinal Scipione Borghese commissioned both the Villa Borghese itself and many of the great works still on display in its gallery. Works by Bernini, Caravaggio and Titian remain in their original settings, as envisioned by the Cardinal, a fiercely determined collector. Strictly controlled entry to the Villa and Gallery can make booking difficult and complicated. On this fully-guided tour you’ll hear more about Cardinal Borghese’s quest to complete his collection, and the stories behind the artworks themselves, including Bernini’s ‘Apollo and Daphne’, Canova’s ‘Pauline Bonaparte’, Caravaggio’s ‘St. Jerome’ and Raphael’s ‘The Deposition’. Your guide will be an English-speaker and an expert on the collection, and audio headsets ensure you’ll hear every word they say.
Villa Borghese Gardens
Included in this tour is a visit to the Borghese Gardens: once the Cardinal’s private park, now a favorite spot for locals to relax among sculptures, plants and water features and get away from it all.
Group Tour - English: Guided tour of the Borghese Gallery and Gardens with small groups of no more than 15 people.

Our tour guide, Sofia, was excellent! Filled with so many anecdotes and meaningful insights about the art. She was efficient and we saw a lot without ever feeling rushed. The museum is beautiful and I learned so much from her!

My husband and I loved our tour! Alessandra was an amazing guide. She was so sweet, knowledgeable, and passionate about her explanations! It made us excited about what we were looking at. She also handled a rude woman on our tour (who was very late even after our group waited on the latecomers and insisting on things that were beyond our guide’s control and interrupting her tour) with grace and kindness. I was very impressed with Alessandra and her ability to handle the situation calmly and with respect. I would recommend this tour to any art lover and in general! The explanations are clear and it adds a lot to the experience to have a guide that loves what they do!!

I had no idea there was so much amazing art, I frankly was expecting more plants but we lucked out. The tour guide also teaches art history so we knew which perspective the artist wanted us to start with. Fredericka was. Absolutely fantastic. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

Please make sure you know which tour group you booked with via Viator as all guides are waiting at the same spot. We had a phenomenal guide and loved every second of the 2hour tour of the Galleria. There was no tour in the garden and the tour ended - on the dot - after 2 hours
