This full-day Rome tour secures timed entry to two of the city's most difficult tickets to obtain independently: the Vatican Museums and the Colosseum. Both sell out weeks in advance, and booking logistics can be complex. Your expert English-speaking guide leads a small group of no more than 20 through the Vatican's gallery halls, into the Sistine Chapel, and across the Roman Forum before stepping inside the ancient amphitheater. Between these two landmarks, a guided walk takes in Piazza Navona, the Pantheon exterior, and the Trevi Fountain, with private transportation connecting the Vatican to the city center so there is no navigating public transit mid-day. This tour is ideal for first-time visitors to Rome who want to cover the city's essential sights in one well-paced day, with all logistics handled.

Travelers should have a high level of physical fitness
A valid government-issued ID is required for entry into the Colosseum and Vatican. The name on your tickets must match the name on your government-issued ID or you will be refused entry.

On Wednesdays and during other Vatican events, this tour does not include a view of the outside of St. Peter's Basilica due to closures.

Vatican Museums
Meet your guide just outside the Vatican Museums entrance on Viale Vaticano, where you'll check in and receive your timed entry tickets. Once inside, your guide leads you through the Candelabra Gallery, Gallery of Tapestries, and Gallery of Maps, pointing out key works of Roman and Greek art along the way.
Sistine Chapel
Still inside the Vatican complex, you'll move into the Sistine Chapel for one of the most awe-inspiring moments of the day. Your guide prepares you in advance with stories about Michelangelo's ceiling frescoes, including The Creation of Adam and The Last Judgment, before you step inside to take it all in.

This tour was as described—highlights of Rome. Therefore it felt a little rushed at some points because there’s so much to see. We only had one full day in Rome so seeing a little of it all and getting to skip the lines was better than only getting to do one or two places if we’d done it independently. Our tour guide was great, very informative, but it was often hard to understand through the headpiece with an accent and with crowd noise. Still, it was a good experience!

This tour was good. A lot of great information received in one day. On the other side of that, it was a lot of information. Sometimes a bit overwhelming. The disappointing part is that the tour guide would be explaining things but we were always in the back of the group so we weren’t even close to what see what she was talking about. It felt rushed. Would I do it again? Probably because I liked the walk through the towns, but I would definitely try to stay closer to the guide to be able to hear/see what was being discussed. Our guide Maria was very knowledgeable and well informed on all the highlights of the city!

Excellent tour with Paola. She was very knowledgeable, friendly, humorous and engaging. We had already seen many of the historical sites but her explanation of the history of each site make each area far more interesting. I would highly recommend this tour.

Excellent tour and tour guide, she was very knowledgeable of all locations. Site visits are very crowded, as you would expect. The tour guide walks fast, and we lost sight of her a few times. Walking with comfortable shoes is a MUST- we clocked over 7 miles of walking on that day before departing the tour and heading back to the hotel.

We did the Rome in a Day Tour. It was a 7 hour tour and our tour guide, CAROLINA, was absolutely amazing. She was extremely knowledgeable of every aspect of the tour. She gave exact details and verified how the facts were confirmed by historians. My family and I had the best time and the 7 hour tour is very strenuous on walking but there is plenty of opportunities to sit down and relax before you move on throughout the tour. I would rate this tour a 100 out of 10 because nothing could have been better.

Covers a lot of ground and moves quickly. Great for an overview of the top sites in Rome. Erturk, our guide, was great -- friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. Very much enjoyed the tour.
