This tour is definitely a great opportunity to learn more about Sarajevo in general, but specifically about Sarajevo during and after the siege. Mak was a fantastic guide - I couldn’t have asked for more. He was friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and generous with both his expertise and with sharing his personal experiences of life during and after the war. Though I was the only person on the tour (I was there during the off-season), Mak ensured the experience was just as thorough as it would have been with a full group. I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to participate in this tour and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting this incredible and complex city for the first time.

One of the best tours ever I had! Thank you very much, Mak! He knows so much details, of course also from his own experiences!

Excellent. I had an amazing and very personal and moving tour with Mac this morning. I was the only person on the tour so Mac could have easily asked me to go another day instead but he didn't. Mac knows his city inside out and provided stories and knowledge in abundance as we travelled to the war tunnel, Dobrinja (the front line between Bosnian and Serb communities), the old bobsled track, sniper alley, the Jewish cemetery as well as to plenty of amazing viewpoints. I didn't notice the time passing and would highly recommend this tour to anybody visiting the city. Thanks again Mac, Cian.

This was a truly excellent tour that allowed us to understand the real situation in Bosnia—something you could never experience through ordinary sightseeing. In particular, hearing Mark’s personal stories based on his own experiences was incredibly meaningful. Thank you very much for such a valuable experience.

The experience is very special for those who are interested in the city's history. Combined with the country BiH, Sarajevo, and the tour guide's experience with the Sarajevo War. Mak did an exceptional job in explaining the situations in a compelling manner. This is the evidence that Mak knows a lot and can talk about it to the tourists. Very recommend it!

You can’t come to Sarajevo without learning about the siege, and this would be the quintessential tour to learn and understand about it. I took the tour with Mak and it was absolutely splendid. Tons of great information was delivered, and sharing of his life story intertwined during and after the siege was not just moving, but gives you a first hand account and perspective of that period and in the future. I’m especially grateful to have had the opportunity to learnt so much in such a short time. I definitely would recommend for anyone.

What an incredible tour! My guide, Alan, was a child living in Sarajevo at the time of the siege so was able to provide a personal account of his family’s experience during the war, which was harrowing but fascinating. The tour takes you on a big drive around the city so I got to see lots more parts than I would’ve on foot, including some neighbourhoods of the Republika Srpska. I have been to most European countries now and done a walking tour in almost all. This was easily one of the best tours I’ve ever done. I can’t praise Alan enough for his knowledge, friendliness and dedication. Incredible.

I would strongly recommend this trip to anyone interested in Bosnian history (past 500 years) with a strong concentration on the last war. Our tour guide Mak left no stone unturned and was able to share he and his family’s personal experiences in escaping and eventually returning to Sarajevo.
