Routeburn Track / Key Summit Day Walk offers a breathtaking exploration of one of New Zealand’s Great Walks. This guided day walk, is limited to 12 guests, showcases stunning alpine landscapes from Fiordland side of the Routeburn track. We begin with a scenic drive along the famous Milford Road to the Divide, where your walk starts. Enjoy a delightful morning tea with fresh baked treats before setting off. The well-formed track, suitable for various fitness levels, winds through ancient beech forests and ascends to Key Summit, offering panoramic views of alpine lakes and valleys. We tailor the pace to ensure a relaxed experience. If weather permits, we may include additional viewpoints. In less favorable conditions, alternative short walks in the Hollyford Valley ensure a memorable day.

We were picked up at our hotel for the drive to the Routeburn Key Summit carpark. Our driver and guide, Sarah, has so much knowledge of the walks, wildlife, and New Zealand culture. We stopped on the drive to see Te Anau Downs, the Mystic Mountains from Lord of the Rings, and Mirror Lakes. Sarah took some great photos of us. We were lucky enough to only have us on the walk so had Sarah to ourselves and could set the pace. She pointed out local plants and birds on our walk to the Summit. The Summit is incredible with a 360 view of towering mountain ranges, Lake Marion and Marian Creek. This is where we ate lunch. This is a perfect day hike. Highly recommend this company and this tour.
