That's why tourists must visit our rum distillery and master class. Not only will they get to taste some of the finest rum available, but they'll also learn about the history and production process of this iconic spirit. learn about the distillation process, and witness the aging of the rum.
But it's not just about the technicalities of rum production - our master class is an immersive experience that will allow visitors to truly appreciate the art of rum making. They'll meet our master distiller and hear about his passion for creating unique and flavorful rums. They'll also have the chance to try their hand at making their own flavours, and learn how create the perfect drink.

What To Expect
Traveler's will arrive to the distillery to participate in a 1 hr long class to make their very own rum. starting off with a rum tasting of our 6 locally made rums. participants will then proceed to create their very own mixture of flavours and mix in all necessary ingredients to bring home a full size, 750ml bottle with a personalised label. the shared class is for 2 people to use one still create one flavour and take home one bottle between them.

5.00Rum making on the beach! It was such an intimate, fun and unique experience from start to finish. Lana was absolutely fantastic — so knowledgeable, engaging and bubbly, she instantly made everyone feel relaxed and involved. The experience starts with tasting an array of their delicious flavoured rums, which is a great icebreaker and gets everyone sociable. They have some really delicious and unique flavours; all of them are made using local ingredients in small batches. For hardcore rum enthusiasts there is the classic aged or spiced and for those who like something a little less intense, their rum creams are to die for. Then comes the really fun part — experimenting with different flavour combinations to create your perfect rum. Once you’ve perfected your recipe, you mix it with their rum, pour it into your own bottle and design a personalised label. One of the best parts was finishing the bottle in true pirate style with a wax seal! Such a fun touch. We also loved receiving certificates at the end for completing the rum masterclass — another lovely detail that made the whole experience feel extra special. The prices are really reasonable; they offer a couples price for a single bottle between two as well as single prices. They also sell their rums in full size and minis that you can take back to enjoy or as gifts. This was truly a bespoke experience and definitely our favourite activity of the holiday. We actually booked it as a birthday present for my dad’s 60th, and it could not have been more perfect. A must-do if you’re visiting Antigua!

5.00What a great way to spend a day on the island. Each couple made a bottle of rum flavored with any combination of homemade flavors. Ours is vanilla, coconut, mango with a hint of ginger. It was educational and fun. Highly recommend!!!

5.00One of the most unique and fun experiences we had in Antigua was the rum-making class on the beach with Roman Economy! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was amazing — beautiful ocean views, warm island breeze, and such a fun energy all around. Antigua is already such a stunning country with some of the most beautiful beaches and scenery we’ve ever seen, and this experience fit perfectly into the island vibe. The instructors were fantastic. They were hilarious, engaging, and made the entire class feel interactive and entertaining from beginning to end. You could tell they were passionate about what they do and genuinely wanted everyone to have a great time. They explained the rum-making process in a way that was easy to understand while still making it fun and hands-on. We loved getting to create and taste different rum combinations right there on the beach while learning more about the island’s culture and history. It felt like such an authentic Antiguan experience instead of something overly touristy. The staff was incredibly helpful, attentive, and welcoming the entire time, and they made everyone feel comfortable and included. This ended up being one of the highlights of our entire trip. If you’re visiting Antigua and looking for something memorable, fun, and different to do, I highly recommend booking the Roman Economy rum-making class. It was the perfect combination of beautiful scenery, local culture, laughter, and great drinks!

5.00Fantastic experience. Went with my partner on the 19th March. Lana our Rum host/instructor was funny and informative and explained the process very well. ( I don’t want to give too much away as it might spoil the experience for others) The mixture of shots to sample was an experience, and we both enjoyed varies different ones. The making of the rum and trying different rums was a great enjoyment, were now back in the Uk and looking forward to sampling our bottles this weekend. Would definitely recommend.

5.00Who would have thought that making your own Rum could be so much fun? Well, let's say starting with 6 shots of different kinds of Rum ...Yum!!! Our 2 instructors were kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. Both my husband and myself have created delicious flavours that were sealed with wax to take home with us. That's if we don't drink it all before our flight. Thank you for a super afternoon of fun!

5.00Very fun and informative activity. We tasted and made our own custom bottle of rum to take home. I highly recommend. They are also directly across the beach from a beautiful beach, so make a day of it. If you go on Thursday, end the afternoon at the party at Shirley Heights, which is just up the road. :)

5.00We booked this excursion via our hotel and it was one of our favourite trips during our stay. I can’t remember the name of the girl who ran the class but she was a young English girl and was very confident and knowledgeable on the rum making process and the different types of rum. It was great to be able to try the different flavours of rum and then decide what flavours you wanted to use for your own rum. It was also a nice touch to get our own personalised label for the bottle. Would definitely recommend this to any rum lovers.
