That's why tourists must visit our rum distillery and master class. Not only will they get to taste some of the finest rum available, but they'll also learn about the history and production process of this iconic spirit. learn about the distillation process, and witness the aging of the rum.

But it's not just about the technicalities of rum production - our master class is an immersive experience that will allow visitors to truly appreciate the art of rum making. They'll meet our master distiller and hear about his passion for creating unique and flavorful rums. They'll also have the chance to try their hand at making their own flavours, and learn how create the perfect drink.

What To Expect

Traveler's will arrive to the distillery to participate in a 1 hr long class to make their very own rum. starting off with a rum tasting of our 6 locally made rums. participants will then proceed to create their very own mixture of flavours and mix in all necessary ingredients to bring home a full size, 750ml bottle with a personalised label. the shared class is for 2 people to use one still create one flavour and take home one bottle between them.

Great experience, most enjoyable couple of hours, with entertaining staff. The explanation for the brewing of our rum made the process very easy. Looking forward to sampling our bottle in a few months time.

Although we were not able to go due to unforeseen circumstances, Academy of Rum was amazing to deal with and will most definitely book again.

The process of adding the flavors to the rum was easy but would have liked a little better direction on pairings. It was difficult to determine if the overall combinations would work but it was cool to be able to create a label with our own unique name. The wax sealed top was also a nice touch. The one of team member's that was there the day of our event could have been a little more helpful. My husband was interested in a shirt and she just seemed very disinterested in interacting with any of the groups once we had finished up so he didn’t buy one. Overall, I would recommend because of the fun process of coming up with the name, mixing flavors and of course getting to sample several of the different Rums available.
I got to become a rum master for a day!!

What I loved most about this class was the chance to actually make my own rum. Getting to choose the ingredients, learn the process, and bottle something I crafted myself was incredible. Our instructor was knowledgeable and made the class so much fun. It’s such a unique experience, and I’d absolutely do it again.

Fab experience. Had a car so drove as near to hotel, they have some onsite parking🙂 Was expecting to collaborate on making a shared bottle with partner but surprisingly it was a bottle each. Lots of tasting lots of fun!
