Forget the steep mountains and snowy peaks for a day. This tour takes you to the Pannonian plain—a region of endless horizons, vineyards, and sunshine that feels more like Tuscany than typical Austria. This is not a checklist tour; it is a day of slow pleasure, designed for those who want to see where the Viennese go to relax, drink good wine, and listen to the clattering of storks. Discover the serene beauty of Lake Neusiedl, a UNESCO World Heritage site where nature and silence truly take center stage.
You will visit the charming town of Rust, famous for its chimney-top nests, and walk the courtyard of the Esterházy Palace, where Haydn composed his masterpieces.
You travel with a professional two-person crew. Having a separate private driver means you can enjoy a "guilt-free" lunch with wine tasting, knowing your safe return is taken care of. It is a stress-free escape that leaves you refreshed, not exhausted—perfect if you plan to enjoy a night out in Vienna afterwards.

Vienna
Your private driver and guide pick you up at your hotel. As we head southeast, watch the landscape flatten and open up. We are entering the "Pannonian Basin," a region influenced by the warm winds of the Hungarian steppe. It is visually soothing and completely different from the rest of Austria.
Eisenstadt
We start our visit at the unique Bergkirche (Hill Church), famous for its unusual architecture and as the final resting place of Joseph Haydn. From here, we take a pleasant, easy stroll down towards the city center. We arrive at the magnificent Esterházy Palace. We will admire this baroque masterpiece from the outside, walk through the impressive courtyard, and explore the beautiful Palace Gardens (Schlosspark). Note: We focus on the exterior and the park. Since the palace opening hours vary significantly by season (often closed on weekdays in winter), admission tickets are not included. However, during the open season (May–September) or weekends, if you wish to see the interior, tickets can be purchased on the spot. (Admission Ticket: Not Included)

Wonderful tour experience! Our tour guide Geni was very attentive to our goals for the day in Burgenland. She provided a most helpful history of the region along with pointing out many important buildings and sites on our walking trip. One of our goals was to experience the region’s wines. She again excelled and we were able to try many outstanding wines. One of our best tours ever!

This was a fantastic wine and history tour in a less visited part of Austria. The unique Burgenland history, wine, and culture comes alive with these friendly, expert guides. Wonderful memories for a lifetime were made!

Our tour guide Jane is a master historian. We loved the tour and learned so much about European history. Jane was very accommodating and willing to be flexible when we decided to change things up a bit. I highlight recommend this personalized tour.

We had an excellent time with our guide Jane. We wanted to get away from the city center, learn about the area we visit and enjoy some of the local wines and this trip provided us with the experience we had hoped for.
