Murambi Genocide Memorial Center
Rise and shine! We embark on an early journey at 6:00 AM, heading southwest towards the Murambi Genocide Memorial. This poignant site, a former technical vocational training school, became a horrific concentration camp where over 65,000 Tutsi seeking refuge were tragically massacred. During our approximately two-hour visit, you'll gain a deeper understanding of this devastating period, including the complex role of French troops who were stationed here.

Following this impactful experience, we'll continue to the National Ethnographic Museum of Rwanda, offering a fascinating glimpse into the country's rich cultural heritage. Afterwards, we will take a well deserved lunch break in Huye, allowing time to relax and refuel.
Our journey then takes us to the ancient King's Palace in Nyanza, en route back to Kigali. This historical site not only showcases royal Rwandan traditions but also provides an opportunity to admire the majestic Inyambo, or Ankole, cows. We will then return to Kigali, reflecting on the powerful and insightful experiences of the day.
