We were picked up by Kevin (our tour guide) and Essa to take us to the Ferry in Banjul. The ferry docked in Barra and there we were met by our next driver Kebba who took us to Senegal. We went on safari with not too great expectations because they had already told you to be lucky, sometimes you see all the animals and sometimes they have to search for a very long time and certainly to see the giraffes 🦒. Kevin and Victor the guide have done this exquisitely and we have been lucky enough to spot all the animals. From warthog 🐗 to the white rhino 🦏. On the way back we stopped to have lunch at Sowe’s restaurant paradise where we had a nice meal. Then our trip was over and it was back on the ferry home. Rubbish !!! Giraffes zebra rhino what was a pet at the start . Don’t waste money going to Gambia and Senegal for a safari . Lovely place for a beach holiday. No animals to see because they have hunted and eaten them all.

Traveling from Gambia to Senegal is an experience in itself! It is a very long journey in high temperatures and super busy on the ferry crossing!! It is also a very dirty country and visiting the toilet in between will certainly not make you happy. It was an experience but highly recommended ??????

Went on this trip whilst on holiday in Gambia the whole experience was made all the better by our tour guide TJ who is based outside the Holiday beach hotel in Serrekunda. TJ sorted everything for us from picking us up at our Hotel, driving us to Banjul to get the ferry across to Barra then we were met off the ferry by our tour Jeep ( arranged by TJ) and we’re driven to the Gambia / Senegal border where TJ got us through all the border formalities, we couldn’t have done this without the help of TJ, We were then taken straight to Fathala for a very enjoyable safari experience. On the return journey TJ arranged for us to Visit Kunta Kinte island which included a bout trip from the mainland to the island and a trip to the Kunte Kinte museum we also had a very nice lunch as part of the trip. The day was a full 12 hours with all food, drink, ferry and entrance tickets to all attractions included FAs well as TJs very knowledgeable guidance throughout the trip Would definitely recommend anyone staying in Serrekunda to use TJs services. PS - We also used TJ to be our organiser for trips to a local school in Serekunta as well as the Crocodile Park all which was arranged to perfection and all at a reasonable price.

The asking price is a cheek. We did this tour including Lion Walk in 2019 and paid 90 euros per person. It has certainly become a little more expensive. Perhaps now 100 euros, at most 150 euros, is appropriate. Never book this tour for over 300 euros on this portal. You are sure to find guides or organizers on site who offer better deals. Apart from the price, we can recommend the tour.

Arrived and booked for the Lion walk after the safari in good time and the walk was arranged for 13.00. The safari it’s self was really quick and all the animals there were seen within the first 30 mins at the man made watering holes. The rest of the time was just riding about in the dust, A word of warning please make sure you have a scarf to cover your nose and mouth, We arrived back at reception to be told we would be called for the lion walk. No one came. Our guide went to see them and came back to us to inform us that it would not be taking place until 2.30pm or afterwards or not at all. Their reason was that a large coach load had taken our place. I was really upset as it was my birthday and the walk with the lions was a very special present. Due to my age and health status I know I shall never have a another opportunity to do it. Our guide even pleaded with the reception staff to just let me go to no avail. I was gutted and even back in the UK I am still.

Ebrima was so professional from start to end of the experience. He made the extra effort to meet us at our hotel a couple of days before the excursion day to get us familiar with what to expect etc. On the actual day he was on time in picking us up and was very hospitable throughout the whole trip even providing lots of snacks making sure we were comfortable at all times. I would definitely recommend using VIP Exclusive tours for all your Gambia holiday needs!

A lovely trip, but the ferry to Barra was a bit long and crowded.. Fathala was a wonderful experience, and we saw both corals, giraffes, zebras, gazelles, and birds. A beautiful nature...
